A great thread 🧵 from @louisebrady17 about the importance of #GeneralPracticeNurses to the implementation of the #10YearHealthPlan and their importance to patients and carers as well as #GeneralPractice. 🤔

10/ In pay terms & conditions. We have the evidence that this workforce makes ‘the social & economic difference’ and the impact to sustainable outcomes in prevention & long term conditions. High time 🕰️ this highly skilled workforce is recognised for their contribution.

9/ Government ministers together with the @BMA_GP need to step in now with a firm commitment as outlined in the 10 year plan in support of the #Generalpracticenursing workforce. This would include above stat sick & maternity pay for nursing employees, encompassing annual uplifts

8/ This will hamper the aspirations of the 10year plan. We need to see a financial ring fenced firm commitment from GP employers in support of nursing staff now.. to make the tangible difference for the future.

4/ For governments & policy makers the cost of not getting this right is significant.

3/ Patient safety & the quality of care that RNs offer in #Generalpractice should never be just a ‘priority’ it should be a ‘ precondition’ to cultural & structural reform cc @DrHelenAnderson

2/ What will it take for GP employers.. across the board to recognise the inherent value that this workforce brings to patients their families and their communities across England? 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
