The Sutton EHCP Application process for SEN families is stressful and unfair. This group has been set up to campaign for change. [email protected]
We feel very privileged to have been part of this program after our founder Hayley was interviewed by the brilliant @seandilleyNEWS about @SuttonCouncil . Thank you very much to the teams at @BBCPanorama and @LambentP for giving our fight this coverage. bbc.co.uk/programmes/m00…
But mainly my book is about happiness, and how we can help ADHD children to be happy. It's a follow on from my autism book and has taken blood sweat and tears to write. It is finally coming out next Wed! (but you can preorder a copy now) 🙂🧠amazon.co.uk/ADHD-How-Raise…
No matter how the DfE and its cherry picked advisors spin this, the truth is this move is attractive because it removes legal rights from the vast majority of SEND kids. LAs/schools will be able to act with inpunity & parents will have no recourse schoolsweek.co.uk/ehcp-shake-up-…
If this goes ahead it will be beyond awful. How on earth is this possibility even on the table @bphillipsonMP?

"Children with SEND want ordinary things – a place to learn safely, the opportunity to take part in after-school activities and the chance for parents to work to support their children, rather than having to put their working lives on hold." @annabirdfr dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1…
MPs are looking into the trouble disabled people, carers, & families have in getting vital equipment. They are asking for evidence. These surveys can go into the House of Commons library, so worth 5 minutes if, like us you've struggled. #SEND #disability surveymonkey.com/r/9Q3KFVR

It’s time to fix the SEND system. A whole generation of disabled children and those with additional needs are being let down by a broken education system. bit.ly/FightforOrdina… #FightForOrdinary
It was great to attend the launch of #FightForOrdinary hosted by @DCPcampaign and @letuslearntoo this week. I welcomed the chance to talk to children and families about educational support and look forward to seeing the needed long-term, fundamental reform of the SEND system.
“The Government hasn’t been engaging with us, now I want to make sure the young person’s voice keeps being heard because it’s our future.”👏 Proud to have supported this @DCPcampaign event, hearing from young people with Education, Health and Care Plans. mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/m…
Wow! We’re overwhelmed by the response to our drop-in event with @letuslearntoo. A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to write to their MP – more than 60 constituencies were represented. The Fight For Ordinary starts now.
I was glad to meet today with these incredible young people who were in Parliament with @DCPcampaign & @letuslearntoo to speak with MPs about their experience of the SEND system and the changes that are urgently needed #SENDcrisis #SEND
Thank you to the many MPs and ministers who came to meet young disabled and neurodivergent children and siblings and parents today. Their stories must be at the heart of any reform. @DCPcampaign @letuslearntoo
I've written a piece for @thetimes on the back of my new book on ADHD. How most people don't know what it is (paging Matthew Parris & Andrew Tate). How I didn't understand it when my son was diagnosed, which led to me exploring why it's so misunderstood thetimes.com/life-style/par…

'Many have fought for three, four, five years to get that plan – and now they fear it will be removed. These parents have clear, recent memories of how their child was failed – they are extremely worried' Fierce backlash begins as EHCPs reform floated buff.ly/sqMW5ez
The increase of the 'work from home' and 'remote consultant' model has poured petrol on that issue, as these individuals now rotate through local authorities on a national level, leaving a tidal wave of unlawful policies and contemptuous practices (8 / 9)
This attitude has been fostered and furthered by a never-ending circulation of #sen officers / tribunal officers and managers with INTENSE anti-family attitudes and agendas specifically to frustrate, intimidate and harass families. (7/ 9)
How I wish the DfE listened to people like @SEN_advice rather than Lenehan et al
schoolsweek.co.uk/ehcp-shake-up-… In other words; Leaders have given up trying to comply with the law, and instead now want to row back on the reforms made 11 years ago. (1 / 9)
When government says it’s consulting ‘closely’ with families, they mean the National Network of Parent Carer Forums Here’s NNPCF’s statement re: reports that EHCPs might be chopped. They don’t explicitly ask or insist that statutory plans must be kept nnpcf.org.uk/2025/05/16/pre…
