Common misconception. Gluconeogensis is demand driven, not supply driven.
When you eat excess protein, a lot is converted back into glucose via gluconeogenesis, an energetically costly and inefficient process. You can avoid this by eating some carbs with your protein. This is really non-controversial, but gymbros have mindworms about this topic.

Kraftwerk V4/V5 A gross little slab problem located over at St Elmo’s boulders 5 minutes from the heart of Chattanooga. Finally completed a year after first touching it, in 90+ degree heat. Surely to God I’m getting better 🫠😏😎
If you have lower back problems, weak and tight lower ab muscles—especially the psoas—are almost certainly a major factor. Stretching isn’t the answer. This is the best exercise I’ve found. I’ve worked up to 40 lbs and it’s made a huge difference.
