In recent days, the Republican candidate for president has falsely claimed public schools perform sex change operations, doctors execute babies and that he has every right to interfere with elections. Where are the corresponding stories about his fitness for office?
President Trump's lawsuit targeting Rupert Murdoch and the Wall Street Journal is deeply troubling.
It shouldn’t be a crime for members of the public and journalists to document abuses at farms, labs, and puppy mills. Yet ag-gag laws are spreading and becoming a model for cracking down on reporting on other industries. rollingstone.com/politics/polit…
Chicago-area unaccompanied minors are getting letters from DHS telling them to leave the country or ‘the federal government will find you.’ Though many of these children reunited with family/undocumented parents, legally, they must face their immigration process on their own.

In studio, caffeinated, and ready to leap upon the news. Today’s show is for all the fine people at work in public broadcasting. Whatever happens, we continue to work for all of the American public. Thanks for the opportunity.
I have said many times on this site that for 30 years I was an election analyst for CBS News. I was so proud of what we did. To watch the news division and the broader network go into the toilet over. The last decade was painful and frustrating. But canceling Colbert? 1
Not really an overstatement to say that the test of a free society is whether or not comedians can make fun of the country's leader on TV without repurcussions.
Yes, the long reign of late-night has been coming to a slow end due to the internet, but don't be fooled: There's much more than money at the root of this show's demise. rollingstone.com/tv-movies/tv-m…

Who'd have guessed Rupert Murdoch would stand up to Trump while the billionaire bosses of CBS, the Washington Post, the LA Times and Facebook roll over?
Someone seems upset.

My first impression abt the cancelation of Colbert: The financial side of that business has definitely been under pressure, as CBS release asserts, but if CBS believes it can escape without some serious questions about capitulating to Trump, they are seriously deluded.
