My piece for @TheCanaryUK on the effects of the @UKLabour Welfare Bill. The lies. The freezing out of disabled voices. The manipulation and the betrayal. They tried to take our basic human rights away. As a party, they're finished 🥀 #DisabilityBenefits #PIP #WelfareBill
The horror of Labour's DWP Welfare Bill shows they are a party of liars There is no trust left. None. No confidence. Labour lied in its election pledges about listening to disabled people, says @ChasingGlimmers #WelfareBill thecanary.co/opinion/2025/0…
As someone actually trained in behavioural psychology—unlike most MPs—I can tell you: financial precarity doesn’t “incentivise” sick people to work. It breaks them. Stress worsens health. Fear doesn’t create productivity. It creates collapse. #TakingThePIP
DWP boss just said Universal Credit gives disabled people 'perverse incentives' not to work Liz Kendall's shocking comments came just as a new report slams the DWP for failing vulnerable claimants. So which is it??? #TakingThePIP thecanary.co/uk/analysis/20…

What is 'perverse' is choosing to spread hateful narratives about disabled and sick people. @leicesterliz needs to RESIGN and take her nasty views with her.

“Few people without disabilities in Britain would settle for an existence of food, heat and a wash. The question is: why should disabled people?” Disabled people shouldn’t have to prove their worth. We shouldn’t be forced to beg for scraps. We aren’t worth “less” than others
Is it too much to expect MPs to read legislation before speaking or voting on it? They aren't voting on pretty claims in a press release. They are voting on the *words in the bill*, not a letter more, not a letter less. The #UCBill is about cuts to disabled people's welfare.
🚨PLEASE SHARE WIDELY🚨 Today, MPs will vote on cutting £3,000 a year from 750,000 low-income sick and disabled people deemed too ill to work. That’s a £2 BILLION cut. This has had hardly any media coverage. And the Government snuck out the Impact Assessment only last night.
So glad this has been highlighted. Our children have a right to good standards of care and education and no parent should be frightened to advocate for their child 💔 'The system is rotten at the core': Parents threatened for seeking special needs support share.google/OmERT5bTtjVbmT…
Your Prime Day reminder that half of Amazon warehouse workers struggle with food & housing costs. A third have had to rely on government assistance like SNAP — which is about to get cut. If Bezos can spend $50M on a wedding, Amazon can afford to treat its workers with dignity.
The BBC is failing to properly inform the public about Israel’s possession of nuclear arms, new analysis by Declassified shows. The British broadcaster appears to barely notice that Israel is a nuclear-armed state👇 declassifieduk.org/the-bbc-isnt-t…

27 people — including a priest, professor and health workers — were arrested today under terrorism laws. Their crime? Peacefully holding signs opposing genocide. This is how we sleepwalk into fascism.

The reason Starmer's government is so unpopular is simple. It was elected as a Labour government. And it is not a Labour government. If there is one thing people hate, it's being lied to. They feel angry and betrayed.
I should have added 'parasitic' to my list of names disabled people are currently having hurled at us. Delightful.
Ever wondered what PIP is or why some disabled people get it? It’s not “free money.” It’s not “extra help.” It’s a lifeline in an inaccessible world. Disabled people face on average £1,095 in avoidable extra costs per month. #TakingThePIP #DisabilityBenefits
