To the career advisor who, when I was just 16, saw me in my wheelchair and suggested I apply for a job at my local council because they “like” hiring “disabled people,” I proudly hold the title of Doctor of Social Sciences, the highest of academic achievement that exists.🎓
Foreign nationals pay in far more than they take out, helping keep our NHS and care system running. When 8 in 10 disabled people acquired their health conditions, sure, let’s pretend they’ll never get sick or disabled. Must be that special foreign portal they come through. 🪄🇬🇧✨
Kemi Badenoch will call for foreign nationals to be barred from claiming disability and sickness benefits, as she sets out plans for tighter curbs on welfare. The Tory leader will describe Britain's benefits bill as a "ticking time bomb" that could "collapse the economy".…

This is a receipt that disabled people have been handed again & again. From welfare support cuts to unofficial cuts to Access to Work, your mental health should never be a line item on a receipt. 🧠 Access to Work is meant to remove barriers. Instead, it became the biggest one
🚨BREAKING: The UK govt has forced through its Bill to cut social security - rushing all 3 stages of scrutiny in a single day to avoid accountability. No amount of concessions can disguise this political choice for what it is: an assault on disabled people.
🚨The UN has written to the government about disability cuts in the UC and PIP Bill 🚨 It says it "has received credible information" indicating that the Bill will "deepen the signs of regression" on disabled people's rights in the UK. The Bill must not proceed.
I spoke on @GBNEWS about people living with Mental Health Conditions claiming PIP. It’s a valid disability and can be very debilitating. 70% of disabled people live with non-visible disabilities. The Gov should make policies that make life liveable for everyone! #PIP
