At Prime Minister's Questions today I called on Keir Starmer to provide clarity on the importance of local accountability in Government plans for healthcare and a GP surgery for Wixams in Mid Beds.

It is businesses, not Governments, that create jobs, prosperity and growth in Mid Beds and across the country. So it was fantastic to host a small business roundtable with Shadow Chancellor @MelJStride to listen to local businesses about the challenges they are facing.

The Government has objected to my Bill to tackle flooding ❌ It is extremely disappointing, but the work doesn't stop there. I'll be bringing the Bill back to the Commons later this year, where we'll try again.

Merging Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes ICB with Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough is a waste of money. It will take decision making on local healthcare away from local people and into a larger quango. I hope the Government will listen and reverse its plans.

Transport links need to be improved across Mid Beds in the coming years. We've got East-West Rail on the way, but we also need to see step-free access at Flitwick and Harlington stations and improvements to Junction 13 of the M1. I raised this with the Transport Secretary 👇🏻

Labour is in chaos over their broken pledge to hire 6,500 more teachers. There are 400 fewer. Labour promised taxing education would fund new staff, but the money’s being used to house illegal migrants. It’s no surprise MPs say there's no clear plan. rb.gy/jq0vqu
