It’s not the BMA “undermining the trade union movement”. It’s a Labour Prime Minister, writing in the Murdoch press, urging junior doctors to break with their union leadership. That’s a direct attack on trade unionism. Solidarity with @TheBMA and junior doctors on strike.
Keir Starmer: Resident doctors should break ranks with the BMA leadership. The industrial action that starts on Friday is in no one’s interests and medics should not follow their union down its dangerous and destructive route, he says. thetimes.com/article/3fdcd5…
Regulators are meant to be independent. Prof Melville’s admission that they are acting on instructions from DHSC is shocking. I guess the jig is up and they’re just openly admitting they’re a captured regulator now? Regardless of the outcome of this case, the GMC is done.
We were even more shocked by Prof Melville's statement on how the GMC reached the decision not to set scope -- no identifiable decision, decision-maker nor review #AUvsGMC
The fight for fair pay is back on. We did it last year, we can do it again 📢 Our ballot for industrial action will open on 27 May. Update your details here and get ballot ready myaccount.bma.org.uk Doctors, know your worth!
As we winter deepens some advice from an aging Emergency Doctor about how to keep going, sometimes smiling and very occasionally thriving 1, Control the controllable—health policy and funding are not your responsibility, and you do not need to feel guilty or responsible for them
The Government’s ‘Plan for Change’ has failed to deliver a plan and significant change to future-proof Emergency Medicine which is facing one of the most difficult winters yet. It comes as new NHS England data reveals the healthcare system is going into winter under more…
Strike action is effective ✊🏻 All 🏴 secondary care doctors are now back in negotiations with the Westminster government.
We have agreed to talks with DHSC. We will be meeting with them next week and will listen to what they have to say.
Is it that surprising that NHS management failures enabled #LucyLetby crimes? Whistleblowing in the NHS consistently falls on deaf ears or is met with reprisal. A broken system feeding on a culture of fear. #NHSInCrisis
‘A happy workforce is your responsibility. Staff aren’t happy. That’s your fault. That’s not good for patients.’ A junior doctor calls out prime minister @RishiSunak on @LBCNews this morning when he tried to blame record waiting lists on strikes, not on years of understaffing.
The starting salary of a Physician’s Assistant is £43,742. Do they believe its fair and reasonable to pay the assistants over £11,000 more than the doctors who are supervising them? The truth is, they know it isn’t. They just don’t want the public to. So tell them again
⬆️ Junior doctors will get a pay rise of between 8.1% and 10.3% depending on where they are in their training. This is a fair and reasonable increase as recommended by the independent pay review bodies. Full details below 👇 gov.uk/government/new…
Tory MP admits the government "basically rigs" the DDRB and other 'independent' pay review bodies. We know. That's why we lost confidence in them. That's why we stopped wasting our time. Get into negotiations for #PayRestoration

My daughter and 8 other students have just completed their placement as part of a college healthcare foundation course. Sadly, all of them have decided that they no-longer want to work in healthcare, owing to the way they were treated by Nurses on the wards, what’s going on? 🥲
Doctors at the start of their career Doctors at the end of their career Doctors in between All deserve #FullPayRestoration @BMA_JuniorDocs @BMA_Consultants
I've seen screenshots from reddit, but this doesn't just apply now or to only one platform. If you are bleating racism and ignorance, openly or behind a pseudonym, you are demonstrating you are unfit for our profession and unfit for our union.
Bravo @RobLaurensonD4P @BMA_JuniorDocs V good performance on #PoliticsLive well worth👀full 5 min clip calling out the total nonsense that it is government & NOT doctors, who have unilaterally stopped talks RT if you want gvmnt to get round the table & make a *SERIOUS* offer
The Government has left us no option but to go on strike in England this week. This morning @RobLaurensonD4P has spoken to @SophyRidgeSky about why 👇
Stick together, fight together, win together. Junior doctors deserve full #PayRestoration now! Retweet if you agree. fal.cn/3ySTl
Today, we announce a 3rd round of industrial action from 14 – 17 June. The Government’s 5% pay increase offer is an insult to junior doctors in England.
