The Purple Emperor and White Admiral are not easy to film, but I just about managed it today in Salcey Forest - in oak tree tops (PE) and on bramble (WA). The Purple Emperor fly past has been slowed down to a 10th speed! @BedsNthantsBC @UpperThamesBC @missingmass1
Two months after the first sighting in Northants on the 26th April, the Wood White is still going strong. This was one of three in Salcey Forest. @BedsNthantsBC @UpperThamesBC @missingmass1
A number of locations in NE America saw highest June temperature on record yesterday. Data going back over a century in some locations.
Exciting to find two new locations in Hazelborough Forest for the Purple Emperor. I was lucky not tread on one which was in its own little world on dried scat! A bonus to film ther other purple target species: the Purple Hairstreak. @BedsNthantsBC @missingmass1 @savebutterflies
