Nassau County has allowed ICE to detain more than 1,400 people here. The public, families, advocates, and electeds have little to no insight into the conditions of the facility. We have every right to be here.
@SolagesNY and I are at East Meadow Jail right now to utilize our rights as state electeds to inspect the facility. The facility has unlawfully denied us entry, even as we handed them a copy of the law. We are working on escalating.
