It was a joy to attend @SolagesNY’ annual Elmont Family Day. Elmont has always held a special place in my heart and it was great to see so many friends and community members there!
What a beautiful day in Elmont! ☀️ Thank you to everyone who came out for the 2nd Annual Elmont Family Day. From basketball to community fun. Elmont showed up and showed out! 💙 #ElmontFamilyDay

In Little Haiti, a provider told me 160 Haitian home health aides with TPS are losing their jobs caring for the elderly. The Trump Administration revoked their legal status, fully aware of the consequences. Now seniors are paying the price. nytimes.com/2025/07/18/us/…
We had an incredible day with the @SUNYESF Timbuctoo Institute cohort exploring the @BillionOyster Project 🦪 alongside @BPHACaucus and @JohnBKing on Governors Island. It was a hands-on reminder that climate careers and real opportunities are growing right here at home.

Caucus Chair @SolagesNY came together with @Timbuctoo1846, @BillionOyster, & SUNY Chancellor @JohnBKing today to gather oysters. This program aims to restore New York Harbour's oyster reefs while educating community members on the importance of these special habitats.
Talk about an immersive experience! It was wonderful to join students from @sunyesf’s Timbuctoo Institute for an oyster gathering activity on the final day of their program alongside @BPHACaucus Chair @SolagesNY. The Timbuctoo Institute leaves a clear impact on these students.…
All hair is truly welcome. 🫶✨ Joined @love_amika, @BB_Roster, and the Texture Education Collective to celebrate how policy creates progress. The textured hair curriculum law is working — making every salon chair more inclusive, one client at a time. #TextureEducation

Grateful to be honored alongside @nsbctc’s Matthew Aracich at the annual @USGBC_LI Long Island Gala. Together we’re building a greener, more sustainable Long Island, one project at a time. 💚 #GreenBuilding

Public education must be free and accessible to all. The Supreme Court letting Trump move ahead with dismantling the Dept. of Ed puts more than funding at risk. It threatens civil rights, equal opportunity, and the promise of a fair shot for every student.
BREAKING: Supreme Court STAYS lower court's decision blocking Trump admin's attempt to essentially shut down Dept. of Education. Admin can now move forward with plans to effectively shutter the agency. Sotomayor/Jackson/Kagan dissent.
Thank you @LIFEDofLABOR for standing up for Sara Lopez Garcia and for every student, worker, and immigrant fighting for a better life. Your words remind us: solidarity is how we protect what’s right.
Statement from John R. Durso, President and Ryan Stanton, Executive Director of the Long Island Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO in Support of Sara Lopez Garcia. What we know is that Sara Lopez Garcia is a promise. She is a promise of what this country can be when we lift up hard…

The @BPHACaucus is proud to help launch the @Timbuctoo1846 Pipeline 3rd cohort, connecting high school students to hands-on climate science and justice learning in Brooklyn and the Adirondacks. Seeing young people lead gives us hope for real change.

What a blast at the 12th Annual Creole American Family Night! 🇭🇹✨ Big thanks to the sponsors & community leaders who made it happen. Music, culture, and unity all in one night. #TabouCombo #HaitianPride @CarrieSolages

Let’s not rewrite history: Trump’s 2017 tax law capped the SALT deduction — hitting NY homeowners hard so we’d pay more while getting less back. Now the OBBB “fix” is an even bigger slap to NY. Nassau County is still paying more and losing vital funding.
Congratulations to Congressmen Andrew Garbarino and Nick LaLota for restoring the bulk of SALT deductions making Long Island more affordable. Thank you! 🇺🇸 @RepGarbarino @nicklalota
