the thing about the “James Cameron has wasted the last 20+ years doing Avatar” take is that if he wasn’t doing Avatar he probably wouldn’t be making movies at all. if anything Avatar has impeded on 20+ years of potential Jim Cameron deep sea diving instead
in a post-mystery box world it's so refreshing how little james cameron gives a shit about spoilers. way of water plays kiri's origins all coy but the script just outright says what her deal is. you can't spoil avatar because it's an experience, not a plot delivery system
"james cameron is wasting his life doing avatar movies" shows that you have absolutely no understanding for who james cameron is as an artist and person like get the fuck out of here lmao
Incredible effect in the Fire and Ash trailer where you’re like yayyy yayyy I’m back on Pandora but it’s a bait and switch because you then realize that the situation on Pandora is not great. Things look pretty bleak for my stupid blue children.
once again naming their artists front and centre as a global massive film franchise. other blockbusters take note
Avatar: Fire And Ash’s incoming antagonist Varang – and her Ash Clan – set Pandora ablaze on Empire’s exclusive subscriber cover. Newsstand edition on sale Thurs 31 July. Illustration by Dylan Cole. Read more: empireonline.com/movies/news/av…
When you go to the kitchen and find a fork😔
With the trailer for #AvatarFireAndAsh in cinemas at the moment…. Got me thinking what topics and conversations would you like to see leading up to the release of the film?
Sure, Big Jim has “wasted his life” to the sum of $5.24 billion, the adoration of millions of fans all over the world, two Best Picture nominations and overall positive critical acclaim
Avatar haters are not gonna make it
I went for the Avatar trailer and was not disappointed. Kiri makes me emotional the second she’s on screen, man. Just a magic performance from Sigourney in that last one.
Fantastic Four comes dangerously close to being very good many times over but unfortunately isn’t interested in any of the compelling ideas it throws in the air, instead opting for a wildly self conscious speed run attempt at being the first “good” FF movie. It’s fine.
I saw the AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH trailer and besides being some of the most beautiful footage I've seen all year, struck by the real sense of doom and rage––fist fights inside of cosmic volcanoes, heroes terrified, huge aerial battles. And I'm pretty sure I know who's going to die.
PLUS: a world-exclusive piece of Fire And Ash concept art by the great Dylan Cole, on the subscriber-only cover. Light it up! 🔥
Absolute genius @DylanColeArt has done it again. This is pure aura.
This is a big one 🔥 For our new issue I got to head to New Zealand to shadow James Cameron for two days, as he perfects his colossal blockbuster, Avatar: Fire And Ash. For an epic cover story that takes you as close to Pandora as you can get without a kuru. Plus the first…
The Avatar franchise is one of the most important things to occur within the world of filmmaking this century. It’s time to have THAT conversation. I don’t know how someone can watch that Fire & Ash trailer and not be invested. Incredible visuals and storytelling. James Cameron…
If you've seen the Fire and Ash trailer, you know that it goes unfathomable levels of hard. Pretty much convinced at this point that the movie will have *big* character deaths; really going to be the one that reroutes the franchise's path forward. So glad it's also the longest.
Avatar: Fire and Ash looks incredible. I know the haters will probably find this, but it's such an incredible thing to witness these movies on the big screen. I can't wait to see this saga unfold.
Pretty cool that we get a free screening of #TheFantasticFour with our tickets for the Avatar: Fire & Ash trailer. Nice one, Disney!
Wow... Speechless. I saw the first trailer for @JimCameron's Avatar: Fire and Ash in @IMAX before The #FantasticFour: First Steps tonight & it was one of the most breathtaking trailers I've ever seen. Astounding! Won't give anything away. See it on the big screen! @officialavatar
