Still thinking about Aftersun. Today, *THE* shot. And I’m thinking about it because it distils in a single frame some heavy things I’ve grown up with and experienced since becoming a father that it overwhelms me to see on screen. I feel like this one’s going to need a thread 🧵:

You know an interview went well when the recording ends and you’re all just swapping obscure stop-motion animation recommendations 💪🏻

Favourite from each phase? Sure; Phase 1 — Captain America: The First Avenger Phase 2 — Iron Man 3 Phase 3 — Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 Phase 4 — Spider-Man: No Way Home Phase 5 — Thunderbolts* And, finally, Phase 6 — The Fantastic Four: First Steps (obvs)
My favorite film from each phase of the MCU: Phase 1: The Avengers Phase 2: Captain America: The Winter Soldier Phase 3: Avengers Endgame Phase 4: Loki Phase 5: The Fantastic Four
Pretty cool that we get a free screening of #TheFantasticFour with our tickets for the Avatar: Fire & Ash trailer. Nice one, Disney!
Sometimes I grumble about life, and sometimes I remember that I’ve lived to see Aardman work on projects in both the Star Wars and Pokémon universes and I remember that I am truly blessed
First teaser for the stop-motion animated ‘POKÉMON’ series Created by Aardman (‘Wallace & Gromit’)
Just rolled credits after 100% completing #Expedition33. This is right up there with The Last Of Us, Breath Of The Wild, and Final Fantasy X (my favourite, don’t judge) as one of the best gaming experiences of my life. A bona fide masterpiece; what an achievement. 🤍

Absolutely this. I class my job as being well done if I get out of the way as much as possible and manage to create a space for the interviewee(s) to share their insights and experiences. Nobody is watching/listening for you; you’re just the means to far more interesting ends.
realized my problem with modern interviewing, especially in this context where everything needs to go viral, is that the interviewer is far more concerned with getting themselves over than showing any interest in the film or talent. They're all the center of their own universe
On the very rare off-chance anyone among my mutuals has an Oasis 🎟️ going for Sunday, please give me a shout! Don’t mind where it’s stood, happy to meet up on the day, will be in Manchester from about 12pm on the 20th. One last roll of the die for me before I admit defeat. 🤞🏻
I will do whatever must be done to be there for this. Holy shit!
Experience the world of #PrincessMononoke like never before✨ Restored in breathtaking 4K, watch the trailer now for the return of the epic fantasy - exclusively in IMAX in UK & IE August 15.
Beautiful stuff

Brad Pitt? More like Brad *PFFFFFITTTT*
Brad Pitt says he once went Method and ate four plates of beans for a role. The resulting flatulence caused the 60-person crew to flee the set: “There was nothing I could do. I was stuck in this chair. And nature took its course. Then there was nothing. I went, oh, great. I got…
Eh? That’s literally what Keir Starmer is doing now? He’s leading the anti-immigrant, anti-welfare working class party? Literally Reform with red rosettes.

I’m not exaggerating when I say this. ‘Ask Me Why’ may be the best theme Joe Hisaishi has ever composed. The use of this melody throughout The Boy & The Heron sends such a wave of emotion into my heart that I know I’m crying before the first tear even lands on my cheek. Sublime.
