Child of God, Saved by Grace! Husband, father, son, brother, friend and coach. I am truly blessed by the best!
After dropping three in a row to end January, the Vikings beat Pittsburg 55-53 to win their 4th game in a row. Dontae Sawyer 32pts, Jager Quirin 10pts, Connor Largent 4 pts, Joe Keal & Andrew Houk 3 pts Jason Smart 2 pts and Conner Barcus 1 pt.
Replacing textbooks with Chromebooks was a mistake
Educators…it isn’t a raise when your increased healthcare costs outweigh your salary increase. 😐
Interesting take…
In sports, the players typically earn more than the head coach. In education, the teachers should be the ones earning more than the administrators.
Vikings struggle early, but came together for the win tonight vs. SE. 57-45. Sawyer 23 pts. Johnson and Largent 9pts. Keal and Smart 6 pts. Quirin 4pts. We will play New Heights Christian School in the championship Saturday night. 7-3 overall. On the next!
Vikings defeat Commerce 72-31 in the opening round of mid season tournament week. Eleven guys reach the scoring column and four in double figures. On to the next!
Vikings lose a close one at home to Coffeyville tonight. 60-52. Tip our caps to the visitors tonight and we move on to the next.
Vikings with a big conference win on the road! Trailed a red hot shooting Independence team most of the game, but found a way to overcome. Joe Keal a defensive DAWG tonight. Damais Johnson 20 pts. Dontae Sawyer 18 pts. 5-2, 3-0
Vikings win and improve to 4-2 heading into break. PK - 64 LC - 60 Sawyer-17, Quirin-13, Johnson-12, Largent-10, Barcus-8, Keal & Smart-2 @sportsinkansas @SEK_Sports
Boys Final: Parsons 64 Fort Scott 50 Dontae Sawyer - 31pts Great team win! JV and 9th both win as well! @sportsinkansas @SEK_Sports
I would love to see the charge arc (restricted area) be added to HS basketball court. @KSHSAA It would be so much easier for kids to know where to line up at for the charge. And an awesome tool for officials to use during the game. If it helps…why not?
Start with the insurance companies. They are the ones who take advantage of people. We continue to pay more and get less. Gas price goes up, same amount of gas in return. Sub sandwich price goes up, same sandwich in return. Insurance prices go up and you get less coverage.
The Cutting Healthcare Costs for All Kansans Act is a game-changer for our state and has bipartisan support. If passed, this bill will cut healthcare costs, help hospitals hire more nurses and doctors, & extend affordable healthcare to thousands of Kansans.kansasreflector.com/2023/12/14/kan…
Governor, When you get this passed, could you try to help out with prices of insulin and diabetic supplies?? You all have turned your back on the insurance companies and they are capitalizing on kids living with type 1 diabetes. Many are rationing supplies to stay alive.
I am disappointed that some legislators are saying they don’t want to move forward with legalizing medical marijuana this year – effectively turning their backs on our veterans and those with chronic pain and seizure disorders. (1/2)
Same reason @KSHSAA charges student athletes $11 dollars to get in a state tournament game to watch their classmates make memories. All about the mighty dollar.
Why do I hate NFHS Network? Funny you ask: 1. Massive stream delays 2. Buffering 3. Might get audio, might not. 4. Absurdly loud commercials Not a good product.
Thank you!!
Proud of VIKING Cheer after cheering Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri, and Sat. this week-they are dedicated for sure!
Landon Wheat put on a show tonight for Parsons 👀 Pair of nice dunks against Southeast. @LandonWheat6 @PkVikings @Parsons_Vikings @Anthony_Houk
😳…
Topeka USD 501 will pay retention and recruitment incentives of up to $8,000 (yes, you read that right) to most of its staff members, using ESSER III funds approved by the Kansas State Board of Ed this morning. #ksed topekapublicschools.net/premiumpay
I wish I could make this happen, but this honorable meeting would be up to guys like @StephenCurry30 and @jaytatum0 Basically the only thing curry hasn’t done in his career. Play in Parsons like Bill Russell did.
@Anthony_Houk we need a game setup next year at PHS with @celtics vs @dubnationinside
@sportsinkansas here is a stat that won’t get much publicity but it’s amazing. Cedric Webb from Parsons has taken 10 charges this year in just five games. School record is 17 set last year by Ethan Houk. #unselfish
Free throws win for sure…but the selfish technical by Braun turned into momentum for Dayton. Game changed at that point. They made FTs and got ball, turned into and 1 for Dayton and led to their big run.
9-20 FT. End of story. CANT MAKE IT FOR THEM! 😡
