MAX KEEPING COOL. Lounging in the grass, Max looks relaxed but, as ever, alert at the ADIWS, South Africa. The lush grass, refreshed by recent rains is a far cry from the sweltering hot and dusty day he was rescued from a circus in a junkyard on the outskirts of Guatemala City.

#ThrowbackThursday FREEDOM DAY FOR KIMBA, SASHA & NENA! 7 years ago today, ADI’s Operation Liberty to empty the circus cages of Guatemala began. The country had banned animals in circuses. ADI negotiated the release of 3 lions from Circo Navarro who assisted the move to ADI TRU.

Max, one of the tigers ADI rescued from a circus in Guatemala, had a serious seizure. An ADIWS Resident Welfare Team member was able to film it and send it to Dr. Caldwell, who quickly prescribed medication. We will continue to monitor Max as he bounces back from this incident.
