#ThrowbackThursday Remembering legendary circus survivors Caesar and Sarah, seen here this month in 2010. Rescued from a Portuguese circus, they enjoyed nine glorious years in the African sunshine at the #ADIWildlifeSanctuary. They both passed in 2016 but will never be forgotten.

Why can’t rescued big cats be released into the wild? Saved from circuses, zoos, and the pet trade, they’re often inbred, malnourished in early life and suffer lifelong health problems. At the #ADIWildlifeSanctuary, they can roam and play in safety under our care.

Although he remains stiff from osteo-arthritis, it’s glorious to see Tarzan exploring his habitat at the #ADIWildlifeSanctuary. We made modifications to his favored den, adding extra insulation and heating. Tanya has remained with him throughout and they are as close as ever.

While at their temporary holding facility in France, #GoliathAndCoralie loved the bouncy bed they’d been given. So, we made sure they had one when they arrived at #ADIWS! Goliath especially loves the bed, and Coralie is often on top of one of the dens surveying their territory.
