Love you, coach, but if that's a tornado warning, or a line of t-storms with destructive winds, it should interrupt any press conference.
and that's why no phones are allowed 😅 @emplifybellin
Classic laminar structure resembling a stack of pancakes, with a "green sky" to boot. You don't need to see a tornado to have a fascinating storm chase.
One of the most impressive shelf clouds I've seen in awhile this evening!! Humphrey, NE #Nebraska #newx #shelfcloud #stormchasing #wxtwitter @NWSOmaha
Yes, it's hot for many today. But #OTD one location in the U.S. hit 121˚...and it wasn't in the Desert Southwest. weather.com/news/weather/n…

2pm @NHC_Atlantic outlooks 1 week ago vs. today (Wed.) #dejavu
Yes, another spell of #heat & humidity is on the way to the Midwest and Northeast. But there's some good news next week. #patternchange 👀

After last night's #flooding, since June 19, 2024: - 54 flash #flood warnings have been issued by NWS for Ruidoso. - 176 reports of flooding or debris flows in Ruidoso, Ruidoso Downs or Hollywood, NM on 31 separate days. Bit of a break later this week, thankfully.

15 years ago #OTD: America's record largest #hail (in 2 of 3 metrics), roughly as heavy as a hammer: weather.com/news/weather/n…

Quite the mammatus display from our rooftop this evening! #WAwx
#TIL there's an island along the MO/IL border west of the Mississippi River...that's actually on the Illinois side. It was the sight of one of the most dramatic floods of the 1993 #flood event, #OTD. weather.com/news/weather/n…

In a more muted 2025 for the Lower 48, overall, Raleigh appears to be America's anomalous heat leader, so far. Per @SERCC, its three hottest years-to-date (through July 21): 1. 2024 2. 2025 3. 2023 & 2017 (tie) sercc.oasis.unc.edu/ClimPerList.ph…
It's been a busy few days, but it's worth noting that Raleigh-Durham Airport only got down to a low of 80 degrees on July 18, which ties the all-time record high minimum temperature. This occurred four other times since records began: in 2010, 1942, 1936, and 1887. #ncwx
"Chamber of commerce" #weather this AM in the Northeast. Check out these dew points in the 40s and 50s. Enjoy it while you can.

1 million trees downed. 72 separate microburst outflows found. #OTD America's most violent mountain #tornado, studied by Fujita. weather.com/news/weather/n…

Since June 19, 2024: - 197 separate reports of flash #flooding near Ruidoso, NM - 53 separate @NWS flash #flood warnings mentioned #Ruidoso. - 12 of those were FF emergencies. (Data kudos: IEM/@akrherz) Flash flood threat continues through Wed. afternoon.

It's a split week in the Northeast: - Today - Tue: Refreshingly dry air (If you can, open windows and air out.) - Friday: Daily record highs possible + muggy air.

This little MCV (mesoscale convective vortex formed by heating aloft from t-storm clusters) near Death Valley looks better than #93L ever did.
29 years ago today, one of only three F5 #tornadoes in Wisconsin history tore through Oakfield. Just over 100 miles away, an historic #flood. weather.com/news/weather/n…
