The BBC is no different to so many institutions and employers who protect reputation over the safety of their workers. We need laws that force bosses to put safety over spin. The Government can prevent cases like these by treating sexual harassment as a workplace injury.

This is what happens when employers are allowed to exercise "flexible discipline". The Government has run out of reasons not to treat workplace sexual harassment as a health and safety issue and actually prevent it after over 50 years of failed legislation.

Horrifying and utterly unacceptable.
🧵 Today the government has published its Employment Rights Bill Roadmap. By the time it's implemented, the government's own figures show over 11 MILLION workers will experience workplace sexual harassment. This includes: 680,000 facing actual or attempted rape at work.
We think sexual harassment should be treated like any other workplace hazard. It affects up to 11 million workers annually, causing PTSD & depression. HSE regulates stress but not harassment - this is a political choice that must change. #EndNotDefend
