I’m heartbroken by the death of Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband. Melissa led with grace, kindness, and a deep respect for Minnesota. Her legacy of principled, dedicated public service will not be forgotten. We are all better for knowing her.

I am shocked and horrified by the evil attack that took place overnight. Please lift up in prayer the victims, as well as the law enforcement personnel working to apprehend the perpetrator.

This started with house Democrats refusing to show up at the Capitol, stalling the start of the session. Meanwhile, @GovTimWalz has been too busy campaigning out of state to lead at home. Minnesotans deserve leaders who show up and do the job. It’s time to finish the work!
