Excited to share (over here) that in January, I'll start as an Asst Professor @SFU Psych! 🏞️ I'm recruiting a lab manager & my 1st grad student. If you're interested in social cognition/perception, stereotyping, & transformative experiences, check out socosci.com~🦉
My latest paper is out at Psych Sci❗️ w/ @TaniaLombrozo & @cocosci_lab We built a Bayesian model that captures people's inferences from opinions* in a game-show paradigm. *e.g., if 12 people think 'X' is True, and 2 think 'X' is False, P(X=T) = 81% journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/09…
If you are attending #CogSci2024 come and check out our poster (P2-E-238) on July 26! Isaac Christian, @IPALab, @sreejan_kumar and I, study how people learn multiple visuomotor mappings using Meta-RL. Happy to chat about it, so reach out if you are interested!

Hi all (first tweet ever!): If you are at #RLDM2022 and are interested in how people learn sensorimotor mappings come to see my poster (1.97)!!
In a paper just out, I refresh the environmental complexity hypothesis, clarifying the broad role of cognition from an evolutionary perspective: royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/10.1098/rs…
Our latest paper is out! We looked at the roles and interplay of reinforcement and error feedback on exploration during reaching and gait for neurotypical individuals and those with Parkinson's disease. journals.plos.org/ploscompbiol/a…
Excited to share a new project! 🎉🎉 doi.org/10.1101/2024.0… How do we navigate between brain states when we switch tasks? Are dynamics driven by control, or passive decay of the prev task? To answer, we compare high-dim linear dynamical systems fit to EEG and RNNs🌀 ⏬
Had a great conversation w/ Goutham Yegappan on the Re-Educated podcast! We discussed the science of human memory, my personal journey as a scientist, and much more. For those interested -- shorturl.at/KWI6X
Excited to share our lab’s posters at @SfNtweets! Come check them out—covering how explicit strategies handle small motor errors, fundamental sensorimotor processes, computational mechanisms behind motor strategies, and the impact of Parkinson’s disease on motor adaptation.
Happy to share that this work is finally out in collaboration with @nathanieldaw and @IPALab ! If you are interested in RL and visuomotor learning, have a look! journals.plos.org/ploscompbiol/a…
Extremely chuffed about this new preprint. How does the human auditory system track "pitch motion"? It turns out, it's the same way the visual system tracks motion (🤯)! Come for a NEW auditory illusion, stay for the fMRI & natural speech analysis! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Interested in applying computational approaches to understand developmental changes in learning? I’ll be at #CCN2024 this week and would love to talk to anyone who may be interested in joining my new BU lab next summer as a PhD student or lab manager. Please reach out!
Excited to announce a new preprint showing human motor adaptation without movement -- a collaborative effort between #AlexForrence, @smickdougle, and myself! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Paisanos, como le hacemos para subir a México 🇲🇽 en esta lista ? Quieren aprender neurociencias computacionales y deep learning ? Inscríbase a @neuromatch !! Tienen hasta el 17 de Mayo!! 20 inscritos más y pasamos a top 8! Por favor RT si saben de alguien que les pueda interesar!
When I had just started my job at @NYU_CNS @NYUPsych in 2013, I pitched a project to incoming graduate students. It was a wild new direction for me: using board games to understand how people think ahead. 7.5 years later, we have a preprint. psyarxiv.com/rhq5j/ 1/
Join the lab!
Interested in graduate school? Come work with us @IPALab in the Department of Psychology and Princeton Neuroscience Institute! The deadline is early, November 23: gradschool.princeton.edu/academics/fiel… Contact me if you have any questions.
