"These findings send perhaps the most alarming message yet about the impact of climate change on our water resources" "The consequences of continued groundwater overuse could undermine food and water security for billions of people around the world."
The planet is losing freshwater at an unprecedented rate. Rising temperatures increase evaporation, while human overuse of groundwater shifts freshwater from land to oceans, leading to widespread continental drying.... newscientist.com/article/249000…
For public transport to be a viable option, it needs to be available where and when you need it. Many areas of Australian cities miss out. (This data shows weekdays; it's worse on weekends, despite lots of people wanting to travel. Regional cities are also worse.)
Look at what is happening!
How can people ignore what’s happening and what’s coming, when it’s unfolding right in front of us?
Human intervention restoring the environment.
Two decades of tireless work restoring habitat & creating eco-mooring sites (so boats' anchors don't tear seagrass out by the roots) by @seahorsecharity & @NOCnews, has paid off with a spectacular summer of seahorses off the Dorset coast this year 🌊 share.google/EeKyHpTRJ3QcDw…
It’s madness to burn or log native forests. @MurrayWatt
"The trees... are considered under threat by global authorities. But they are targeted as part of WA's controlled burning program that is designed to reduce the bushfire risk across the state's south." abc.net.au/news/2025-07-1…
Turkey’s 50°C heat isn’t a fluke. It’s a glimpse of our climate future. As the planet heats up, extreme temperatures like this will hit harder, more often, and with growing risks to health and survival.
Turkey reached 50.0°C for the first time in recorded history today. This isn’t just a heatwave, It’s the edge of human survival. In low humidity just 30 minutes of exposure risks heat stroke. Increasing humidity shortens that time. This is climate change, and it’s accelerating.
BREAKING: terrified scientists say emerging data indicate heat in the oceans is now accumulating exponentially defying climate model predictions 🧵

Your teeth are a vital part of your overall health but high dental costs, and long public waitlists, keep many from getting the care they need. Medicare should cover dental care as an essential health service. We need dental in Medicare!
In 2017, I was sworn in as the youngest ever Senator, 1 of only 4 parliamentarians under 35, and the only wheelchair user in the chamber. Today, I was joined by 10 others aged 35 and under, and 2 more disabled people/ mobility aid users.
I use the captions for everything even english language. It's so frustrating that some shows are still not captioned. Having audio descriptions should be mandated. Go Senator Steele-John! 👍🏻 #Disability #disabilityinclusion
Captions are mandatory. Audio descriptions should be too. Today I'm reintroducing our Greens bill to make them standard on free to air TV and streaming services. Would this help you or someone you know? #auspol
