Today's ACIP meeting is usually a time where experts come together to inform the future of vaccines. That is not what today will be. That is not what we can stand behind. The AAP will continue to recommend its own childhood vaccine schedule -- just as we have since the 1930s.
Hepatitis B can be passed from parent to baby at birth - and when that happens, the consequences can be deadly. It is unscientific & dangerous to ignore the success of U.S. vaccination programs or argue that the U.S. should not vaccinate babies for hepatitis B at birth.
Last but not least! Congratulations to our PCCM Fellowship Programs graduates presenting their year-end research and projects! @UCSDMedSchool
