Children’s lives have been lost in the devastating floods sweeping through Texas. Each child’s death is a life cut short, a family forever changed, a community in mourning, and a future taken too soon. We must all come together to heal and support local recovery efforts.

The budget reconciliation bill passed by Congress threatens children’s health – making sweeping cuts to programs children and families rely on. Learn more from AAP News at publications.aap.org/aapnews/news/3…

The measles virus is one of the most contagious and infectious diseases known. As cases rise, vaccinating your children is the most effective way to keep them safe. Learn more about how you can protect your children and community. healthychildren.org/English/safety…

Pediatricians do not profit off vaccines. In fact, most pediatricians either break even or even lose money when they offer vaccines. Misleading parents about doctors' motivations puts children's health at risk and sows distrust in lifesaving vaccinations. nyti.ms/4lwVbM4

The @JohnsHopkins Center for Outbreak Response Innovation confirmed at least 1,283 measles cases in the US so far this year, the highest number recorded in over 3 decades. Children must remain up to date on their MMR vaccinations to stay protected. bit.ly/4eJXMju

The Senate just passed a budget bill that would gut Medicaid and SNAP — programs millions of kids rely on for care and nutrition. Cuts this big threaten every child’s health. Pediatricians urge the House to reject this bill and protect kids’ care. aap.org/en/news-room/n…

Medicaid cuts don’t just affect some—they affect us all. It means fewer kids get vaccines, fewer parents get mental health care, fewer women get prenatal visits, & more face medical debt. @AmerAcadPeds, @the_aafp, @acog_org & @acpimphysicians urge Congress: protect Medicaid.
The American Academy of Pediatrics joined fellow medical leaders in a new op-ed in @statnews with a clear, urgent message: Vaccines work—and they save lives. statnews.com/2025/06/26/vac…
This week's ACIP meeting was full of the same intentionally misleading fearmongering that causes vaccine hesitancy. Children and families deserve better — public health information grounded in science.

Thimerosal is a preservative found in some flu vaccines. False information and faulty “science” about thimerosal are frequently used to mislead parents in an attempt to scare them out of vaccinating their children. Here’s the truth: aap.org/en/news-room/f…

An update from Dr. Sean O’Leary on this morning’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) meeting:

Today's ACIP meeting is usually a time where experts come together to inform the future of vaccines. That is not what today will be. That is not what we can stand behind. The AAP will continue to recommend its own childhood vaccine schedule -- just as we have since the 1930s.
