Exploring, highlighting, and advocating for Texas cannabis through policy, industry, and culture.
Tarrant County Sheriff Bill Waybourn says thc is the cause for the rise in mental health issues in local jails. He must really hate that we keep marching in downtown Fort Worth every year with a FWPD escort. No arrests, no citations, no vandalism, no violence… just peaceful 1st…
If we are using every metric of how Senator Perry describes hemp, the state should also shut down the Texas Compassionate Use Program. #txlege
Hemp ban author Charles Perry says everything on the shelves at hemp stores today is already illegal. So why are we trying to pass a bill that will make everything illegal? #txlege
We’re at the Capitol this morning to testify against SB5 and a full ban of hemp derived products in the Texas senate! Things will move quickly today in the special session, so keep an eye out and we’ll keep you posted as the situation develops! 🤘🤘 #txlege
Here is the link for anyone interested in watching the Senate State Affairs public hearing on hemp ban SB5 senate.texas.gov/videoplayer.ph…
And if you can’t make it for the Senate hearing, make plans for the House hearing where we will likely get better warning and respect.
Folks, they’ve scheduled Perry’s SB5 Hemp ban public hearing for tomorrow at 9am. They’ve given less than 24 hours notification. Texas is a big state and many have to make plans just to drive to Austin and testify. CALL YOUR REPS!!! I know many cannot make it, and that’s ok,…
Not just wasting time on it. They basically just copy/pasted SB3 to #SB5. They've also prioritized this ahead of disaster preparedness for the Hill Country, and property tax relief. It's a slap in the face to all Texans, whether they care about hemp or not.
Y'all. Texans have been pretty clear on this. They want THC regulated. That ban bill was so unpopular even their own guy vetoed it and now they're wasting MORE time on this?

Here we go again: Perry just filed SB 5 - another hemp ban bill. Bill text: capitol.texas.gov/tlodocs/891/bi… Texas needs flood relief. We need lower property taxes. We need school funding. But sure, let’s keep wasting time on a hemp ban even @GregAbbott_TX doesn’t support. #txlege #sb5
Why are all these reps focused on hemp, instead of what we really need??? This makes no sense and will lose seats! This is completely unacceptable and absurd!! Lower our effing property taxes!
Tax Tax Tax Cannabis and Marijuana in Texas and Use ALLL that money to cover Property taxes and Infrastructure
Texans do NOT want a Total Hemp Ban!!! SHARE TO STOP the Tx Lege @txcannaco @TexasHempBiz @PLegalization @HometownHeroATX @brianeharrison @KatrinaPierson @JasonKEddington @SarahisCensored @johnburk39 @GregAbbott_TX @ShelleyLuther @DavidLowe4Texas @txleg
There’s a rally happening in San Antonio - led by a local cannabis business - that aims to educate Texans about the hemp industry, cannabis as a plant, etc. mysanantonio.com/news/local/art…
Regulating THC for 21+ in TX is a backdoor way to legalize recreational marijuana. Law enforcement is against regulation & supports a full ban. Texas has a robust program for those in need of medical THC for cancer, PTSD, & other issues.
Read the bill
I’m pretty sure all they did was end your grifting scam of intoxicating ThCA hemp… CBD is still legal. Thanks for playing though.
Btw - the new version of SB 3 appears to be SB 5. It appears cannabinoids other than CBD and CBG would still be outlawed under this bill. This is similar to SB 3. capitol.texas.gov/tlodocs/891/bi…
Happy day 1 of TX's special session. Several things are on the agenda for this session, including SB 3 — the THC ban that Gov. Abbott vetoed. The idea of a ban has sparked uproar in Texas, & hemp backers are standing up while planning a rally. mysanantonio.com/news/local/art… via @mySA
Texans across party lines support regulating THC—not banning it. ✅ Safe access ✅ Clear labeling ✅ Fewer opioids 🚫 A ban = less oversight, more black market risk. Ask lawmakers: Will they regulate smartly—or ban blindly? 🔗 texansdefendingdemocracy.com/officials #TXLege #THC
There's the first shot fired. Same guy that pushed #SB3 there's no way this passes as he wrote it, I don't even have to read it to know #SB5 #txlege @txcannaco
.@electcharles’ SB 5, hemp/low-grade THC bill, has been filed for 89(1). No text up yet: capitol.texas.gov/BillLookup/His… #txlege
When the Senate State Affairs Committee holds the hearing on hemp ban SB5, you will literally be watching taxpayer dollars burning by the second. This special session alone will cost Texans over 4 million #txlege
Changing hemp ban SB3 into SB5 is like putting lipstick on a pig, except in this case, they didn’t even bother with the lipstick. #txlege
Like fine wine
Texans: “We need real property tax relief!”@electcharles: “Best I can do is legislation banning hemp products that help people in pain.”
