My piece in @GuardianBooks about the poetry magazine scene. It’s crucial we support these journals and all the others doing such great work... @ButchersDogMag @_dodo @PN_Review @Carcanet @PoetryBrum @naushsabah @propelmagazine @Anthony1983 @FrogmorePress theguardian.com/books/2023/jun…
Like poetry? Like film? Agnostic about one—both? Give my second collection Hollywood or Home a try. Laughter and sadness—and a plentiful popping of ego balloons along the way. I waited almost twenty years to publish—some of that time planned, most not. serenbooks.com/book/hollywood…
A huge honour to have my poem ‘Bournemouth’ included in such a wonderful, important anthology, alongside so many terrific poets and poems. Very special. Immense gratitude to Rachael Boast and @BloodaxeBooks.

It was a joy to talk to @amyacrepoet of the wonderful @badbettypress for this piece in the new issue of Poetry News @PoetrySociety @JakeWildHall

Hear hear! I did a North Sea Poets workshop with Niall recently and it was phenomenal.
I can't submit to Poetry London. But if I could, & I didn't know Niall's work, & I hadn't seen a recent copy of that magazine, this wd convince me that the current editor is at least a superb writer, & that I would like him to publish me. His workshops must be rather good too.

Delighted to have a poem in the new issue of @PoetryBrum. This is a fine journal, edited by @naushsabah. Particularly gratifying to be alongside writers I admire so much, including Gerry Cambridge of @thedarkhorsemag, @CamilleRalphs_ and @neilsonandrew.

This is a fantastic interview. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
I interviewed Andrew Motion and Michael Hofmann for @PoetryBrum. Two jolly extracts here, but you'll have to buy the mag to learn why AM thinks 'all poetry is performance poetry', or why MH 'can see American poetry growing a little curly tail, like the last of the Buendías'.

Our editor, Niall Campbell, is running a course on preparing a pamphlet manuscript (and how best to make that approach).
My first solo course with NSP is coming up. The webinar covers how to organise your work when approaching a publisher and the best and worst ways to contact an editor. More details below:
It was such a joy to talk to the wonderful poet and publisher @dislaney about @poetrycandle for the spring issue of Poetry News. @PoetrySociety
