Visited Camp La Junta today. The damage is heartbreaking, and the stories of the flood are harrowing. This is deeper than a few clips – there are true heroes here. For now, here’s a small look at the devastation. Volunteers are helping daily, but there’s a long road ahead.
I hope you don’t mind me sharing a proud brother moment – my brother, who lives in Center Point, was out all day on his Case 580K Backhoe, helping first responders get through massive logs and debris as they searched flood victims. Here’s a few pics from today
🚨 UPDATE: Over 700 have signed the petition for House Bill 163, Rep. @BrentMoney's bill for equal protection of preborn children. Let's 10x that. ✍️ Sign + share with 10 others. 👇 pages.abolishabortiontexas.org/2025-petition-…
📢 Event VIP Shooter: Rep. Wes Virdell Representative Wes Virdell, a ninth-generation Texan and U.S. Air Force veteran, has been a staunch advocate for Second Amendment rights, previously serving as the Texas State Director for Gun Owners of America and representing House…
One of the homes I visited in Center Point. There was a patio on the ledge- it washed away. While you can see the river, this house is not as close as you would think. It is very high up. The waters made it to about six feet on the first floor of this home.
Amid all the debris scattered along the Guadalupe River, someone down river found the helmet badge that belongs to Tye, the Center Point VFD chaplain. Considering how much water and mud there was, it’s amazing. The room he is in had over six feet of water in it.

🚨 BREAKING: @BrentMoney has filed HB 163, the only bill in the special session to abolish abortion in Texas. With this special session, the legislature has yet another chance to end abortion in our state. Call your state representative today and ask them to co-author HB 163.
Thank you, Brandon! We appreciate you.
Throughout the devastation and the madness of the Kerrville flooding, @wesvirdelltx has exemplified calm, mission oriented leadership like nobody else I know. Through tragedy, Texans got an opportunity to prove who they are, and I’m proud to consider people like Wes a friend.
This has been a long 10 days for many people. Starting on July 4th, Kerr County and several other counties were hit hard with a lot of rain and flash floods. I have spent most of my days in the Kerrville area since that morning. We all have been affected in one way or another…
Spent today photographing families in Center Point after the flood. This family was so kind and positive despite losing everything. Here they’re looking under their dad’s truck for their grandmother’s china. They lost everything, but thankfully they are all alive.
Large search and rescue group beginning their search for the day in Center Point. The outpouring of support is overwhelming in the best way. So many people have helped contribute to rescue efforts in the area.
This is the back of the Hunt Store – the inside is just as damaged. Seeing the flood destruction from the road is unreal, and from a helicopter it’s even worse. Texas has shown up to help. Let’s keep remembering this area long after the headlines fade.
The internet is a vile place full of hateful people. When you get outside in the real world, you see the love and compassion that the world has and the help people can give.
.@conservmillen: "I'm telling you that the people most likely to pray are also the people most likely to help. The people most likely to complain are the people least likely to help...Don't let anyone tell you that prayer means nothing."
Kerr County Sheriff just now: new figures place total deceased in Kerr at 68; 40 adults and 28 children. Again, the numbers continue to evolve as the search continues.
