Britain's least credible populist. Ibram X Kendi, but for Unherd commenters. A spectre haunting the faculty lounge ... Usual disclaimers apply.

An overlooked but highly plausible account of why communism may have failed - the Montenegrin model
"A new generation will arise, strong and beautiful and full of joy, like the heroes of the Greek heroic age, like the Germanic warriors of the Migration Period, whom we can imagine as having similar strong natures, like the inhabitants of Montenegro today." - Karl Kaucki, 1910
The last globalist party Globalise the Intifada Global Climate Justice Open Borders
400,000 people signing up to support a new left-wing party in just 48 hours is genuinely astonishing. Rather than its usual sneering, the British media should try and understand that this represents something big they should try to understand. They won't, though!
Hey @grok who was the most famous person to visit my profile in the last year?It doesnt need to be a mutual, don’t tag them, just say who it was using handle without the @ sign.
It's just the lack of safe routes that's the problem ...
How a three-star migrant hotel in Barbican became a living nightmare for locals: Blazing mattresses and a TV hurled from windows... and no fewer than 41 'guests' charged with 90 offences ranging from rape to sexual assault, robbery and bag snatching trib.al/CG4onBM
A quick homemade sign is a far more authentic message than a dozen “Refugees welcome” signs which are reused at every counter-protest.
This is Sutton-in-Ashfield where I grew up & where all my family are. This is a protest because a woman was raped 2 weeks ago & the man arrested is a refugee living in a HMO in the town. You cant put this back in now - its a can of worms that has been opened.

Corbyn's left Party will be over run with factionalism, crankery, well connected & extremely privileged ideologues & identity politics jockeying for position. It will be a hot mess & a political bin fire. The working class will look on bewildered or won't notice it all.
Great to read @schneiderhome arguing for a democratic conference to launch the new left party - with proportional representation in the leadership of the party to allow for pluralism:
Some wag has signed me up too - so I expect once you discount fake sign-ups like mine as well as cousin-sharing accounts, it's probably quite a bit less - but hopefully still enough at least to hole Labour beneath the water-line in the university towns and inner cities.
If sign ups counted for party membership, Corbyn and Sultana's new party would be the third largest in Britain - marginally behind Reform UK.
Anyone with a brain can see a significant working class revolt is slowly brewing in England this summer. One thing is for sure - the new Corbyn-Sultana party will be on the other side of the barricades.
The best ‘joke’ name for Corbyn and Zarah Sultana’s party is: New Labour.

She knows she'll get utterly destroyed in Coventry so she's ran away to Birmingham. Not surprised at all.
🚨 NEW: Zarah Sultana is considering standing against Justice Secretary Shabana Mahmood in Birmingham at the next election [@breeallegretti]
The human right to enjoy the fruits of our labor
I really think Britain’s role in drawing up borders in the Middle East should be over Ed. We’re not living in the era of Sykes-Picot…
The UK should be leading on this, not falling behind. Recognise the independent state of Palestine now and take the lead on securing a two-state solution and a lasting peace.
Ah this explains why she was too busy to attend the Coventry Market protest! Ideological point scoring over real life politics. Priorities priorities.
Really appreciated visiting the Queer Without Fear: Pride in Who We Are exhibition at Coventry University, capturing the joy, beauty and defiance of queer life. From street parades to protest gigs, it’s a powerful reminder that queer visibility is both resistance and liberation.
