prediction for the era of AI abundance: premium brands will take a barbell approach to friction. remove friction at the commodity layer (shipping, returns) but add smart, narrative-driven friction at points in the experience where it could heighten taste, craft, or community.
This experience was arguably much better than staring at page after page of algorithmically-served, mediocre, and easily forgettable content.
