I’ve said it before when I first heard it and will continue to push it. - Your gift isn’t for you. It’s for others. Wisdom. Wisdom is for you. Use your gift (we’re all equipped with one) for others and set aside time every day to listen, read, and question as you gain from it.

You want to develop toughness? Get around truth tellers. People that will break your habits, not your hearts.

No doubt that @TreyKeating30 is a dude. Got to coach against him this past season. He plays with pace, aggressiveness, hunts well w/o doing too much. Limitless range and controls the game. Deceptive athleticism allows his creativity at the rim to be on display as well. 👀👀

Talent is overrated. Give me the player who: ✅ Plays to win ✅ Can be trusted ✅ Shows up on time ✅ Listens and learns ✅ Works their tail off ✅ Embraces their role ✅ Makes the right reads ✅ Brings energy every day Talent without this is a headache.

Once had a player clap when he was not involved in a drill or during instruction for the duration of an hour and a half practice..alone. The next day, a couple more clapped. The next day a few more. That player has more hardware than any player to put on the uniform. #BeDifferent

As a coach, I want my studs built like SGA. What a quality human being. Recognizes the value of #2 all the way to the custodial staff. If your best is exemplary like that, you’re going to achieve whatever greatness is capable from the group. Maybe more.
