In Ireland entire housing estates meant for first time buyers are purchased by investment funds 😡 Many of these funds brag about how high rents are which translates into a higher yield for their shareholders 😕 🏡 🇮🇪
Change incentives and this would be built on. Reward good behaviour - large tax breaks for owners who renovate; and penalise bad behaviour - large tax bills for owners of derelict buildings. That'd sort this shite out in no time. Simple.
Outrageous levels of dereliction in Dublin city centre when here should be stunning homes by River Liffey A lack of enforcement & weak government policies have enabled this vandalism right across city Surely its time to hold those responsible accountable & end #DerelictIreland
Part 1: The Great Equalizer Effect "Everybody's a programmer now. You used to need C++, Python... Now you just talk to the AI." The barrier between ideas and execution just collapsed. Every creative becomes technical. Every technical becomes more creative. But it goes deeper:

Reading about how Haughey’s government championed the redevelopment of Temple Bar, it’s a shame we don’t have the same level of ambition to address dereliction in Dublin today: 🔗👇
"A typical house in Dublin currently costs 5.1 times the average household income." Dublin average house price €603,453, October 2024 Dublin median wage €41,272, September 2024 14.6 times average income 2006 Dublin average house €368,576, average income €37,200. 9.91 to 1
These four person mortgages would have worked brilliantly with the govs idea of "durable relationships".
