Incredible This House Republican is of course correct: Bill cuts Medicaid, by a lot! Trump doesn’t know? Is trying to spin his own party’s members? Whatever the reason, don’t think this would fill me w/confidence if I were a nervous lawmaker notus.org/congress/recon…
Things could change quick, but the reconciliation bill is a mess right now. One problem? Trump truly doesn't seem to know what the bill does. He told a group of House Republicans today that Congress shouldn't touch Medicaid. notus.org/congress/recon…
EXCLUSIVE: I obtained 141 pages of documents that detail an effort by the U.S. Geological Survey, which oversees the nation's geographic names, to ignore journalists' requests about Donald Trump's "Gulf of America" declaration. In @NOTUSreports: notus.org/donald-trump/g…

NEW: Alligator Alcatraz isn’t meant for minors. A 15 year old ended up there anyway. State and federal officials initially deflected questions about the boy being held at the facility, but eventually acknowledged he had been there. w @clurhealy miamiherald.com/news/politics-…
I asked OMB Director Russ Vought if he was ready to give Dem senators assurances that what they agree to in the next spending agreement won’t be altered later using rescissions. “No, I’m not,” he said. @NOTUSreports notus.org/trump-white-ho…
NYC was a finalist for two $50 million FEMA grants to upgrade stormwater and sewer infrastructure for flooding. One grant was for Central + East Harlem, another for East Elmhurst. The program was killed by Trump in April, and funding for grants retracted.
Earlier tonight, NYC was drenched by more than 2” of rain in a single hour, flooding streets, basements and subways. I’m grateful to the city workers and emergency responders we rely on in these events. But we must upgrade our infrastructure for this new climate reality.

I talked to Republican lawmakers about deaths since USAID’s withdrawal from the world. Most brushed off the reports, and some insisted that people couldn’t be dying as a result. “I don’t believe that. No.” Read more: notus.org/foreign-policy…
When Trump declared a federal disaster for Texas, he left pending a key part of the funding: The part used to prevent future disasters. He's been doing this routinely since April, breaking precedent with past presidents, including himself notus.org/climate-enviro…
The 33 grants listed as DOGE’s greatest hits range from addressing traffic congestion in New York to maternal morbidity research. What many of them have in common: a focus or even a brief mention that the money benefits minority groups. notus.org/trump-white-ho…
SCOOP: An impostor has been impersonating Marco Rubio, sending AI-generated voice and text messages to 3 foreign ministers, a U.S. governor and a U.S. member of Congress, per a cable obtained by WaPo. W/ @hannah_natanson
“If the premise is we want to show we are on top of it — I think the big 175 million number to a known university will make that splash,” one White House official wrote as the administration stripped funds from the Penn. notus.org/trump-white-ho…
Exclusive: Internal White House emails I obtained detail the Trump administration’s scramble to strip millions from the University of Pennsylvania after a senior official told staff that “POTUS wants to see more action against universities.” notus.org/trump-white-ho…
A huge bill with massive implications — some of which are life or death — has passed. And a lot of the lawmakers who voted for it thought it was bad policy. Really great reporting here from @NOTUSreports notus.org/donald-trump/r…

Speaker Mike Johnson told me he's been up since 5:30 a.m. Wednesday. “I hit my quota on coffee, and I was doing Celsius,” he said. “It’s not good for us.” "I'm gonna give a floor speech and a press conference and have no idea what I'm gonna say," he laughed. @NOTUSreports
NEW: Since the fall of Roe v. Wade, anti-abortion groups have seen an influx of funding from a "dark money" group aligned with Leonard Leo, according to previously unreported tax documents obtained by @NOTUSreports. w/ @OrianaBeLike
