Stem cell biology, development and microfluidics. Happy amongst coffee and (bio)diversity. (He/him) PostDoc @Cambridge_Uni Board @hojanueva
Now out in @NatureComms! 🤩 "Plakoglobin is a mechanoresponsive regulator of naive pluripotency" I can't express how excited I am to see it published! I think I now have more questions than answers, but I guess that's good when doing science! 😇 nature.com/articles/s4146…

Not to be missed! :)
Delighted to host Makis Ampartzidis @hPSCenthusiast in our Department next week! Makis is an old master student from our lab, who finished his PhD at UCL. He did some incredibly exciting work on apical constriction of spina bifida hiPSCs - very much looking forward to his talk!
A big thank you to @ISSCR for hosting @Revive_Restore’s Innovation Showcase this year, in Hong Kong! What a pleasure to be joined by some old friends and new at our Meet-Up Hub, co-organised by @t_n_kohler.
Take a look at our last article! We managed to get iPS derived chimeric animals, healthy and with germline transmission 🐇 A wonderful result, thanks to the hard work of all the team. Bonus: lots of beautiful embryos stainings... nature.com/articles/s4146…
Cell and developmental biologists: as you start looking at conferences in 2025, consider joining us at the 2025 Cell Contact & Adhesion GRC. We've assembled a strong and diverse program of speakers at the cutting-edge of science in our field 1/n Please RT grc.org/cell-contact-a…

🚨 Job Alert! Please RT 🙏 Fully-funded postdoc positions (4+2 years) available! Join the dynamic, collaborative community @TheCrick with access to top-tier technology platforms and an outstanding postdoc training program. crick.wd3.myworkdayjobs.com/External/job/L…
Meeting biodiversity targets through rewilding. Our comment piece @CurrentBiology on the paper from @Araujo_lab and @DiogoAlagador is out: authors.elsevier.com/a/1jzSR3QW8S6G… @idiv @UniHalle @jes_hines @Nestor_Fdez
Team @BernaSozen_ is on fire (again)! 🥳
Our latest out today @Nature! We revisit a century-old theory and show that metabolic gradients work hand-in-hand with genetic&signalling instructions to shape the embryo. Glucose isn't just an energy source, it acts as a major conductor of the body plan🍬 nature.com/articles/s4158…
Excited to share our preprint on Plexin A's role in collective #cellmigration and morphogenesis in fly testis, paralleling angiogenesis and tissue repair! doi.org/10.1101/2024.1… Huge thanks to amazing @JenevieveNorton & my mentor @peiferlabunc #cellbio #development
3-year funded post-doctoral position to study oocyte development using a combination of cutting-edge approaches in cell biology and biophysics. If you are interested and want to know more about the project, please send a CV and contact me.
Please RT: Job alter! We're looking for a postdoc working at the interface of developmental neurobiology & mechanobiology. If you want to figure out how local tissue mechanics interacts with chemical signals to regulate brain folding, apply! @ERC_Research nature.com/naturecareers/…

Advancing stem cell technologies for conservation of wildlife biodiversity Read this #DevSIDiversity Spotlight from @ashlee_m_hutch (@Revive_Restore), @ruthappeltant (@UAntwerpen), Tom Burdon (@roslininstitute), @t_n_kohler (@Cambridge_Uni) & colleagues: journals.biologists.com/dev/article/15…
Thanks a lot for the invitation! It was the first time that I tried to combine my work on pluripotency and our conservation work at @hojanueva in one talk ☺️
Great turnout for Cafe Synth last night with fantastic talks from Timo Kohler @t_n_kohler @CamBiochem @hollfelderlab showing us the marvels of microfluidics and taking us to the Amazon Forest followed by Mark Davison @GrantInstrument with new approaches to Temp Control
Thrilled to announce our MPhil on Reproduction and Embryogenesis at the University of Cambridge. Apply now before the scholarship deadlines and become part of an amazing community here at PDN and the Centre for Trophoblast Research!
I'm excited to announce that I am on the job market for tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in cell biology, with a focus on the integrated roles of keratin filaments and organelle biology! Please feel free to reach out, share/RT🔁!
Our new work is out today! Long time in the oven, this has been a really fun and informative collaboration led by Dhanur Iyer in my lab and @HK_Heidar from @NRivron lab. We show that human embryonic cells have an inherent potential to regulate their developmental timing.
