Fan of the Spider-Man Trilogy from Sam Raimi. I like Spider-Man and Venom
A prerelease interview with @RCEverbeck who played Eddie Brock in Sam Raimi's 2002 Spider-Man film: web.archive.org/web/2004120707… Thanks to @KlonoaPrime for digging this up! Also suggest checking out these Twitter posts Mr. Everbeck did showing what his Eddie Brock would've been like:
"Eddie Brock's prayers for vengeance were answered by a darkness from another world"
This is lowkey giving me the exact same vibe
Bagley, man, what happened? I don’t think his art with Venom’s been the same since USM

I appreciate that in some shots of Venom in Spider-Man 3, Raimi gave him the Bagley fangs

SM3’s final battle is peak because the root cause of it boils down to two egotistical men who are responsible for the circumstances which led to it. Peter’s ego led him to humiliate Eddie when exposing him, and Eddie’s ego led him to refuse to own up to his role in his downfall
I love that in TAS, Eddie is such a hater that he actually tries to physically ATTACK Spider-Man even before becoming Venom I also just love how Hank Azaria delivers the “ooh Spider-Man’s in trouble” line
I hate when people use the nonsense argument that Raimi Venom was “too small” when Venom was originally always the same size as the host and didn’t turn them into a ten foot tall monster. Plus he was more jacked than anyone in the trilogy.
I find funny how Eddie's first "appearance" was this hand
Always funny to see some gassing up and defending Spectacular, SSU, and Insomniac Venom when those are radically different adaptations compared to the comics and then diss Raimi Venom in the same breath, whose biggest “sin” is not being a bodybuilder or not saying “we are Venom”
Real wisdom is realizing the 90s animated series and Raimi Spider-Man 3 are the best (and only good) TV and film adaptations of Eddie/Venom
I want my delusional Catholic Venom who deflects blame onto others for his own mistakes and uses his perceived victimhood as a moral license to lash out and seek revenge
comic fans pretty please drop your favorite character that got mischaracterized in a movie or show I wanna hear about it
This was such a good version of Eddie that he didn’t do anything at all to get fired
