Huge respect to @asifamhp and all AMHPs across the country. It is without doubt one of the most challenging jobs there is and it’s getting harder by day. We really owe them and need to look after them.
Today I have mostly been threatened with violence & a fairly gruesome death✔️ Tomorrow I suspect I will be getting a S.135(1) Warrant & continuing the conversation✔️ It’s some job this #AMHPingLark sometimes/often✔️ *I often find myself> #AMHPlife #AMHPbag #AMHPlunch
Shame my local Booths in Ripon will be Tesco in just over a week. Understand the commercials, but a shame for those who live in the area. All the best to the staff, thank you for making shopping a pleasure especially the butchery section teaching me how to cook lamb shanks.
"The government promised domestic abusers wouldn't be released early, but they were slipping through the net. That needs to change." @JoshBabarinde
If you decide to use s136 - 1. CALL AN AMBULANCE - EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. 2. Anyone presenting with a RED FLAG* goes to A&E 3. Anyone without a RED FLAG goes to a PoS, unless it's full, then go to A&E. 4. Custody is a last resort, only if authorised by an inspector. 4/
Tragic, so painful for the family. Important message: anyone can be at risk. Which means everyone has a role in #suicideprevention. theguardian.com/uk-news/2025/j…

This is following the October 2024 announcement that Social Work England would not be reviewing any CPD records. Fees increasing while regulatory functions diminish 🤨
Garden update @FothersRick - but I cannot take all the credit 😑😂 def had a little help #bananawater too!

This is local to me. The wounded officer is related to my good friend. How does someone get into a probation office with weapons?!? @GOVUK 😞

One from a couple of weeks ago, zoomed in on a section of St.Annes Pier. The part circle above the roof is actually the Moon rising behind. The orange glow on the windows is the sunset colours reflecting off the windows. #stannes #fyldecoast #pier

Lots of guys can ‘father’ a child 💯 You need to be “present” to take any credit… Journal of Family Psychology, “children with actively involved fathers display higher levels of empathy, emotional intelligence, and self-control” 2023

Was there this week. Shop and cafe quiet for a Friday. Not sure that having parking charges helped? Such a shame @BoothsCountry
Your Booths Ripon store closes for the final time on Sunday 20th July 4pm. Closing any Booths store is always a difficult decision and we'd like to say a heartfelt thank you to our colleagues and customers for their support over the years. Until then, we're open as usual.
It’s called the social determinants of health✔️ Poverty, inequality & shite housing etc✔️ *Some might suggest it’s a political choice
I've noticed a change on mental health inpatient wards in patient's physical health in the past 8 years. This seems to also vary depending on the demographics of the area. 8 years ago when I first worked in the UK on an inpatient ward, oncalls were mainly quiet. Medical 1/
health wards. Most of my day to day work is dealing with patient's physical health problems that are poorly controlled. Homelessness in mental health patients is extremely common as is substance misuse. In poorer areas problems stack up even more. Not sure why all of this is?
