The Senate just passed a budget bill that would gut Medicaid and SNAP — programs millions of kids rely on for care and nutrition. Cuts this big threaten every child’s health. Pediatricians urge the House to reject this bill and protect kids’ care. aap.org/en/news-room/n…

Thank you @AmerAcadPeds for continuing to share science-based recommendations about the childhood vaccines children need to keep them and their communities safe from diseases that can result in serious illness, disability, or even death.
Today's ACIP meeting is usually a time where experts come together to inform the future of vaccines. That is not what today will be. That is not what we can stand behind. The AAP will continue to recommend its own childhood vaccine schedule -- just as we have since the 1930s.
A full room of policymakers and advocates celebrating passage of a bill banning the manufacture & sale of assault weapons in RI🎉@RIKidsCount @RICAGV1 @Everytown @GovDanMcKee @Val_Lawson @JoeShekarchi @SenLouDiPalma @Rep_Jason

Another legislative victory! This year’s budget requires a comprehensive pediatric primary health care rate review in 2026 (an important first step to address the shortage of pediatric health care providers, so that that every baby + child in RI can have access to health care!)
Over the next week or two, we’ll be celebrating victories for kids & families and thanking those who helped make them happen and next month, we’ll release our annual Legislative Wrap Up, so keep your eyes peeled👀@RIKidsCount

Today, supporters of the 364-day misdemeanor bill came out to call on @RIHouseofReps members to vote for passage of this bill that would protect community members from the threat of deportation over minor charges @Coalition_ICRI

So excited that after decades of work, this bill is finally passing and will protect Rhode Islanders from predatory lenders, a protection that has been in place in other New England states for years.
Woo hoo! Thank you to all the policymakers and advocates who have been working to pass this bill for so many years. And thank you @JoeShekarchi & @RIHouseofReps for getting it done.
