“Initiative 83 would make the election system fairer. The D.C. Council should fund its implementation.”
"Democrats talk a big game about making the U.S. electoral system fairer," the Editorial Board writes. "But, so far, they are failing to live up to that commitment in D.C." wapo.st/4kBbGWs
“Democrats talk a big game about making the U.S. electoral system fairer. But, so far, they are failing to live up to that commitment in D.C.” Rather than embrace a system that brings more voters into the fold, the @DCDemocrats sued to shut down a popular ballot initiative 🙃
D.C. Democrats tarnish themselves by resisting ranked-choice voting, the Editorial Board writes. wapo.st/4kBbGWs
This one weird trick will help you stop electing candidates with 30% of the vote @RankTheVoteUSA @AllVotesCountDC @fairvote

A finger in the eye of 73% of Washingtonians, for no good reason, and further fraying the bonds between the electorate and our semi-representative government
Another D.C. budget tidbit: @ChmnMendelson says he has *not* funded Initiative 83 in his version of the budget that gets a first vote tomorrow. So, for now, the ranked-choice voting and semi-open primaries ballot initiative approved by voters would not be implemented.
