First time attending @NIHR_UKCRFN conference. Fantastic two days in Birmingham with excellent speakers and informative parallel sessions. Coming away with even more knowledge and tools in the tool kit 🔧 looking forward to 2026 in Dublin 🇮🇪 #UKCRF #CRFBRC25

Great post as always from @MarionKCampbell for #methodologymonday @Irish_RNM
Over recent weeks I’ve heard about some trials struggling with the phenomenon known as “Lasagne’s Law.” I’ve flagged this issue before, but always good to revisit it and discuss what can be done to minimise it 1/7 #MethodologyMonday #121

Looking forward to attending my first UKCRF conference #UKCRF
👋 Just getting started? Or got years of trial delivery under your belt? The UKCRF Conference brings everyone to the table for practical sessions, big conversations, and real skills for real research. #CRFBRC25 🎟️ ukcrfnetwork.co.uk/events/ukcrf-n…
At #CCR25, we saw some trials use a #CompositeOutcome (an endpoint that combines more than one outcome into a single measure) & also saw some of the problems these can throw up. I have discussed these before but thought it would be useful to revisit 1/9 #MethodologyMonday #120

How does Alpha-1 antitrypsin therapy reduce inflammation? Researchers @RCSICritCare show it blocks a key immune signalling pathway, increasing our understanding of inflammation in people with Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency (AATD). ➡️ doi.org/10.1136/thorax… #RCSIdiscover
Final day of #CCR25 and starting with ##GASTROSAM Fantastic achievement to see this important study completed in challenging environments - covid 19, military coup, flooding. In awe of the research and clinical teams for completing this study 👏
Presented at #CCR25: A trial involving children with severe acute malnutrition and gastroenteritis showed no evidence of a difference in mortality at 96 hours between oral and intravenous rehydration strategies. Full GASTROSAM trial results: nej.md/3TjfSP7…
Not just about trial results, it's also about the dancing and social aspect #CCR25
#CCR25 not just trial result presentations, history lessons too!

How do you do a trial that recruits ~43000 patients...team work, communication and a multi-centre, randomised cluster cross-over trial using only 7 site! Data collected using the provincial health database. #CCR25 #FLUID #FLUIDtrial

Excellent editorial of the #NOTACS trial by @nialldferguson Need to find the sweet spot for balancing outcomes - patient, clinical and intervention #CCR25

#NOTACS embedding patients into all elements of the trial from design of trial to publication of results. Wonderful to see #CCR25

#UKROX patients recruited within ~5hrs of ventilation. Would love to see the breakdown of who randomised patients and tools etc used. Fantastic effort in recruitment of patients. Study completed with 3 years and started tail end of COVID19

TTM Biomarker study explained by Niklas Nielsen & Marion Moseby-Knappe #CCR25
#ENCOMPASS trial being presented as part of #CCR25. Electronic healthcare record allowing patients to be identified for inclusion in the study

First trial presented as part of #CCR25 #TARGETPROTEIN No difference in number of days free of the index hospital and alive at day 90
Augmenting enteral protein did not improve outcomes for critically ill patients compared with standard protein levels in the intensive care setting. #CCR25 @CritCareReviews ja.ma/45jf3NI
Annual pilgrimage to Belfast for #CCR25 Looking forward to another year and fantastic programme
