Of the people working on AI or AI-adjacent systems, I'm curious how many are genuinely hyped / think it's the future, vs. reluctant or skeptical but feel like the inevitable leaves them no choice. Conversely, how many are choosing to opt-out despite believing it's inevitable?
I really wish the dominant ethos of expository materials was less of "here's why topic X is actually super simple" and more of "you—yes, you!—are capable of understanding difficult things"
As a 6-year-old, I was terrified of the PrintScrn key. The idea of a keypress—a fundamentally virtual input, otherwise entirely contained within the computer—producing side effects in the physical world (making a paper printout) was deeply disturbing and unholy!!!!
