Delighted that the first RAF flight evacuating vulnerable British nationals from Israel to the UK has departed. The safety of British citizens is our top priority. We continue to work around the clock with Israeli authorities to secure more flights and bring more people home.

The appalling scenes in Gaza are unrelenting. The UK will pull every lever we have to get food and lifesaving support to Palestinians, and we will evacuate children who need urgent medical assistance. This humanitarian catastrophe must end.

Horrified by the killing of two Israeli Embassy staff in DC. We condemn this appalling, antisemitic crime. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families and colleagues at this awful time.
