Buongiorno @TIM_Official.
The French National Assembly is about to vote the no-confidence to Michel Barnier's government. It is a rather new situation, and it is a constitutional crisis because there is no majority and no early elections are possible until July, more realistically September 🧵
Ok. I’m done with this platform. See you over in the other place. Deleting the X app on my phone as a commitment device. It was fun while it lasted. Should have made this move ages ago. Urge everyone to do the same.
A new piece from me @goodauth: How to think about the “racial realignment” in US politics. Two key points: 1) GOP gains among Black and Latino voters are not about gender or the “working class.” They’re about IDENTITY and IDEOLOGY. goodauthority.org/news/election-…
Yep, ie. very much in line with what we, and others, predicted ahead of the EP elections. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
For the first time in its history, we could be looking at a genuinely rightwing European Union. Europe’s centrist majority that has governed the continent is over. My latest for @guardian #vonderleyen theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
NEW: The great Trump-Musk crackdown is coming. And it will hit hard & fast. Journalists will be first. But everyone else is next. I urge you to read my 20 lessons in How to Survive the Broligarchy, inspired by & featuring the great @TimothyDSnyder. 1/ theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
Excellent piece by Mark Mazower in today’s FT, on the political differences between Europe and America on.ft.com/40ORRV2
Andrew Bailey is right. Most people don't realise how shockingly *bad* the UK's goods trade has been after Brexit and the pandemic. UK exports are 23% lower than the pre-2020 trend and imports are 16% below the trend.
Gotta love the New Zealand parliament
The New Zealand government is pulling back on protecting Māori rights, sparking protests from indigenous lawmakers who oppose the decision with their traditional “haka” chant. This is powerful.
The European Parliament votes to delay the application of the EU deforestation law by 12 months. A sharp divide between conservatives and progressives.
I found this an interesting discussion. Thanks Kevin. Felt I was a little too frivolous, though, given the seriousness of the subject. Sorry about that :-(

In Russian state television, the debate is whether Tulsi Gabbard should be referred to as "our agent" or as "girlfriend."
Meanwhile on Russian state TV: Another translated clip of Tucker Carlson and Tulsi Gabbard, introduced by state TV host Vladimir Soloviev as "Our girlfriend Tulsi." After the clip plays, one panelist asks: "Is she some sort of a Russian agent?" The host quickly replies: "Yes."
So - just to underline - the proposed director of national intelligence for the US, Tulsi Gabbard, is so pro-Putin that she has been described as a Russian agent on Russian TV.
