Update: Circle is now profitable and on track for $50M+ ARR by EOY. We just had our best month ever with 100% annualized growth and $200K+ in free cash flow 💸 (And what's crazy is our monthly growth continues to accelerate.) NGL: Getting to this milestone wasn't easy.…
Circle growth rates after hitting $1m ARR EOY 2020: 2021 - 4x 2022 - 2x 2023 - 2x run-rate Goal now is to get profitable while growing as fast as we can next year. Nothing beats default alive
From the early days @circleapp has relentlessly shipped great feature updates...today is no different. Big congrats to @sidyadav + team for launching a native website builder. This is a big one!
Today, we complete Circle’s stack with the launch of our own website builder. A quick backstory: When we started Circle, my co-founders Rudy, Andy, and I would often talk about how most websites for creators and digital products felt disconnected from what they actually sold.…
If you have a good understanding of your customers, your team, and what the world needs right now, you’re in good shape. Just keep building.
Something I've come to believe: Most "AI mandate" memos from brilliant CEOs feel kinda vague and miss the point. They nail the why and the urgency. But the actual steps rarely seem to go beyond a simplistic mandate telling their workforce to "adopt AI." To me, it doesn't feel…

This past weekend, I hosted three of my favorite founder friends in Mayakoba, Mexico for a sensemaking retreat. The idea was to gather a few of my most curious friends and spend three entire days in conversation on entrepreneurship, philosophy, AI, family, community, culture,…

“Some people charged toward the goal, running for all they had. Others stumbled. But it wasn't the speed that mattered. It was the direction they were going.” — Brandon Sanderson
Balance is relative to every person, but if a founder brags about the fact that they’re “not at all present for their family, and they have no friends, and are going to screw over everyone who gets in their way,” I’d also assume they’re not serious about winning.
If a founder brags about having “a balanced life,” I assume they’re not serious about winning.
Community is so important for so many organizations. I recommend Circle about once a week. Most recently to my wife, who works on the non-profit side. Also thrilled to be on board as an investor, but I'd be recommending them even if I wasn't.
great nyc-based under-radar (but not for long?!) company and founder I support - expanding the market/purposes/use cases for community as a service. every brand, cause, and topic benefits from a custom community experience for those that want to engage. 🙌 @sidyadav + team!
The biggest lesson I've learned in the past couple years is to put the blinders on and just build. The macro's gonna macro, but as a builder, your dharma is to build. Ignore the hysterics, naysayers, cynics, critics, singularitists, doomers, etc
January 2025: WOW DEEPSEEK CHANGES EVERYTHING!!!!! THE AI INDUSTRY WILL NEVER BE THE SAME! MASSIVE VALUE DESTRUCTION AHEAD!!!!! May 2025: whatever.
“Against the Odds,” the autobiography of the founder of Dyson, is one of the best business books I’ve ever read. James Dyson figured out how to build a much better vacuum cleaner, got it into half of all British homes, and still owns 100% of a business that makes $1.5B+/year in…

This was one of my favorite video watches of the week. Really exceptional conversion with an exceptional human.
My conversation with Jony Ive yesterday at @stripe sessions.
The job of every startup founder is to will into existence boundless, generative emergence. To do so, you will have to face the demons of entropy, complacency, and ennui. If you succeed, you will birth a complex new entity — ideally, a prosperous and thriving ecosystem. You…

I’m starting a new company: circle.so! I’ll be sharing more about it in the coming weeks, but today I wanted to show gratitude to the life situation that made this possible: contracting for a flexible remote startup — @gumroad. It wouldn’t have happened without it.
