UK PM issues a statement that appears to make recognition of Palestine contingent on a ceasefire that Israel would have to agree to. This would appear to give the Israeli government an effective veto on recognition, and also a new and additional reason to resist a ceasefire.
The suffering and starvation unfolding in Gaza is unspeakable and indefensible.
Canada has issued another statement on Gaza, calling for an "immediate" resumption of UN-led aid and ceasefire. The statement makes no mention of what action it will take if Israel does not comply, such as banning military exports, sanctions or suspending bilateral trade.
