In my head, at least, I liked to imagine that he was covering up some of his features with magic, either out of hurt or out of pride- who can say. If you asked him, he'd say it was out of vanity, but the truth is probably more that the scars remind him of his fallout with MKing

Headcannons are hard, when you work on the show they just end up eeking their way into the show naturally. But I always loved enby/genderqueer MK. I mean, he's made from a rock. He's an avatar. Why would gender even matter to him, yknow? What is gender to a concept of nature.

I think eventually it would have been fun to see him drop his magic and show his true form. there was always a part of me that thought he was prestidigitating a 'mask' over himself to hide the truth, including the 6 ears. But for ease of animation I think he got simplified haha
sometimes I think about how Macaque died and was presumably in limbo for centuries and then was brought back to life hundreds of years later in a completely different time and not only had to adjust to The Reality Of The Horrors but also to an entire new world just like that
