🧵This Harvard Jewish student, who was assaulted on campus, is suing. He says “Harvard did everything it could to defend, protect, and reward the assailants; to impede the criminal investigation; and to prevent [him] from obtaining administrative relief from the University.”
Jake’s lucky he didn’t say this in a pub.
The Western world has gone to war against the basis of its own uniqueness: Under a law about to be passed, "Britons can be prosecuted for a remark that a worker in a public space overhears and finds insulting."
What kind of world do we live that this is a headline?
Megyn Kelly: “Can a man become a woman?” Rahm Emanuel: “No.” @megynkelly: “That’s so easy! Why don’t more people in your party just say that?” @RahmEmanuel: “Because I’m now going to go into a witness protection plan.”
This is the central problem with higher education in the age of AI. We can't require students to do take-home writing assignments (e.g. term papers) any more, because most will cheat and have ChatGPT or Claude or Grok do the writing. But we can't teach critical thinking,…
Yes. Writing is not a second thing that happens after thinking. The act of writing is an act of thinking. Writing *is* thinking. Students, academics, and anyone else who outsources their writing to LLMs will find their screens full of words and their minds emptied of thought.

Burroughs also was the district judge in the Students for Fair Admissions lawsuit (she ruled for Harvard there as well). x.com/sfmcguire79/st…
Judge Allison Burroughs heard arguments in Harvard’s case to restore its federal research funding today. She will issue a decision later, but it sounds like Harvard is likely to win.
For unrelated reasons, I’ve resigned my position at Harvard. But I haven’t been able to speak frankly with *anyone* for c 5 yrs, & it’ll be hard to forget the spectacle of this nation’s ‘intellectual élite’ enforcing moral auto-lobotomy as a condition of entry to polite society
Faculty know the rules: – Don’t defend the wrong person – Don’t criticize the institution – Don’t speak unless it is ‘aligned’ In academia, silence is strategic.
Dear world: that so many of you not only failed to stand by us but repeated and amplified the lies of those who would do us grievous harm is something I never expect to fully understand .
