Founder and CEO of @ITSAfoundation; I focus on unconditional universal basic income (UBI) | #BasicIncome #UBI Bluesky: http://bsky.app/profile/scottsantens.com
I've been researching the idea of Unconditional Basic Income since 2013. Here's a list of findings I've compiled from various UBI experiments, unconditional cash transfer studies, and cash dividend research. The data speaks for itself. Data: reddit.com/r/BasicIncome/… #basicincome

I suggest going through my pinned thread to learn a bit more about human behavioral responses to UBI. At most, it would have a slight decrease in employment, but to a degree similar to under 10 days of paid vacation a year, which virtually every OECD country has more than. It…
My thanks to @holdingsforgood for spotlighting the work we're doing at @ITSAfoundation in support of reshaping public perceptions of UBI by supporting powerful storytelling, research, and direct implementation projects. holdingsforgood.com/resources/blog…
LMAO for the morons that think Trump doesn’t cheat at golf and wins all those club championships fair and square….watch his caddie here
Major new study finds that 4-day workweek (with no reduction in pay) leads to: --> higher productivity --> more revenue --> Less stress, fewer feelings of burnout, and improved overall health and well-being.
The Great Depression was a crisis of mass poverty. The authoritarian moment we're in now is a decades-long crisis of mass insecurity and extreme inequality. The only way out of it is nothing less than a NEW New Deal that needs to include UBI, healthcare for all, and a wealth tax.
Gerald Huff, Former Principal Engineer at Tesla was a visionary UBI advocate. He saw the extreme job disruption of AI and believed UBI would ease the transition to a world of abundance created by technology.
I had Trump accidentally happening upon UBI by regularly rebating tariff revenue on my bingo card, but I did not have Trump doing it because of playing a starring role in the Epstein files and wanting to distract from the cover-up on my bingo card. axios.com/2025/07/25/tru…
Germany gave people €1,200/month no strings attached. They kept working, slept better, switched to better jobs, and even gave more to others. Turns out, when people aren’t drowning, they swim further. #UBI doesn’t kill ambition, it frees it.
CERB wasn't UBI. It was entirely possible with CERB to earn more unemployed than employed. UBI never creates that situation. With UBI you get say $1500/mo and a $2k/mo job bumps you to $3500/mo. With CERB someone got $2k/mo with no job or $1500/mo with a job. Understand the diff?
70% of my part time workers quit during COVID because in Canada they received $500/ week to stay home. They lied that they were laid off and opted for the money. I had one F/T guy apologize saying he can't pass up the opportunity to get paid to do nothing.
As AI replaces workers, China could consider universal basic income. The idea may become less foreign in the coming years because of the increasing replacement of entry-level jobs by machines. Read the full article here: buff.ly/AGXtiBj
The entire system is batshit and worsening. Bring in UBI. Get rid of all bureaucracy: DWP, pensions, benefits etc. Bring in a basic income. People can earn more when they're fit, drop hours when less fit or caring, start a business, go to uni etc. Would massively improve economy.
If older people are continuously forced to work longer and longer by rises in the state pension age, what will the knock on effect be in terms of numbers of jobs available for younger people in the future?
