Explaining broken systems & designing better ones. Policy for dignity: UBI, housing, democracy & sustainability. Sometimes also post Cooking, NBA & @Janela000💍
America works for some of us, but it needs to work for all of us. We need to rebuild our care, housing supply, education, economy, safety, democracy and community. Let’s rebuild our systems from the ground up to deliver freedom, dignity and opportunity for everyone 🧵
Left-antisemitism is real and pervasive
BREAKING: The largest teachers’ union in America is pushing Holocaust education that erases Jews—referring vaguely to “victims of different faiths.” Imagine teaching about slavery without mentioning Black Americans. Why is this acceptable when it comes to Jews?
UBI helping people meet basic needs with a sturdy foundation doesn’t kill ambition, it frees it from desperation. Survival is the floor. Aspiration is the ceiling. People don’t stop striving when they’re secure, they aim higher for: love, status, luxuries, and meaning. #UBI
30+ years. That’s how long it’s been since Democrats were this unpopular. What’s driving people away? Democrats, Comment your top 3 fixed below (policy, messaging, anything).
In America: Commit a crime? You eat for free. Go to school? You’re on your own. Let’s feed every kid! Breakfast & lunch, no charge.
Would you support the USA enacting a Universal Basic Income of $1,000/month for every adult citizen? #UBI
Hey I wonder what happened last time a state tried this
We’re phasing out Oklahoma’s income tax— finally. And once we get to zero, Oklahoma will be rollin like never before.
Major new study finds that 4-day workweek (with no reduction in pay) leads to: --> higher productivity --> more revenue --> Less stress, fewer feelings of burnout, and improved overall health and well-being.
The fun thing about Americans is that they will take examples like this to advocate for some batshit insane, backwards idea that women shouldn’t work, rather than just implementing maternity leave like every other civilized nation on earth.
This is so sad.
Presidents should not have pardon power. It’s a blank check for corruption, rewarding allies, distorting witness testimony, and rewriting justice for political gain.
Baltimore has been investing youth programming, including late night programs, summer camps, teen jobs, sports, after school programs, etc. Homicides in the city are down 40%, with steep drops in robberies, carjackings, and shootings. This should be talked about more.
My take: anyone who gets mad about UBI has no idea how much the government already redistributes wealth. UBI has less administrative overhead and less corruption. It's more egalitarian than a basket of SNAP, social security, and other programs.
Universal Basic Income is a horrible idea according to anyone whose understanding of it is at the peak of Mount Stupid
Crazy just how divergent the reaction to my post is here vs on Bluesky. Hundreds of conservatives & libertarians opposing it here on Twitter. Hundreds of liberals & progressives supporting it on BlueSky. I’ll continue pushing #UBI to both left & right wing audiences.
Germany gave people €1,200/month no strings attached. They kept working, slept better, switched to better jobs, and even gave more to others. Turns out, when people aren’t drowning, they swim further. #UBI doesn’t kill ambition, it frees it.

America needs a massive energy buildout to raise our standard of living & make life more affordable (food, housing, transport, etc.) Solar farms; Advanced nuclear; Long-distance transmission lines; Grid-scale storage. Fast-track permits; Fund R&D; Invest to modernize our grid.
Joe Rogan: "Most people right now are working paycheck to paycheck. They’re barely getting by. Any catastrophe would eliminate all savings. Universal Basic Income would make it so you no longer have to worry about food and shelter."
Intriguing how split people are on this. I think more social media platforms should require ID, but government shouldn’t mandate it. Verified identity curbs bots, foreign ops, and disinformation. Anonymity matters to protect whistleblowers, but so does accountability.
Should social media platforms require users to verify their identity to increase transparency/accountability and help prevent foreign interference, even if it reduces privacy and anonymity?
When you think about it, Universal Basic Income is inevitable.
