My PhD work is finally out in @Nature this week! Again, really grateful for all the support I received from mentors and labmates to get this over the finish line. The revision process has uncovered a few more insights that I think are worth pointing out. nature.com/articles/s4158…
Excited to share this pre-print from my thesis work. I spent the past few years developing a model of diabetic neuropathy and unexpectedly found that macrophages infiltrate the nerves of diabetic mice and their recruitment is neuroprotective!! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Read this #EditorsPick from #PapersoftheWeek from @sarainthelab et al. and @Nature showing evidence that recruitment of macrophages into peripheral nerves delayed terminal sensory axon degeneration in a mouse model of diabetic peripheral neuropathy bit.ly/4b9GeLu #PRF
Macrophages protect against sensory axon loss in peripheral neuropathy @Nature @sarainthelab nature.com/articles/s4158…
So very proud of my ex-lab mate and forever friend, @sarainthelab! Her PhD paper is an extraordinary body of rigorous research which I believe will shape the field of peripheral neuropathy for years to come! nature.com/articles/s4158…

Beautiful paper by @sarainthelab @Aakanksha__Jain & Clifford J Woolf @BostonChildrens: Immune drivers of pain resolution and protection nature.com/articles/s4159…
Our latest paper details part of our unbiased, high-throughput screening efforts to uncover neuroprotective compounds against chemotherapy-induced degeneration on motor and sensory neurons. 4/1902 compounds worked across both neuronal subtypes. @PhRMA link.springer.com/article/10.100…
Guess who made it to the cover of @NatImmunol 🙋🏽♀️✨🥺
Check out our recent work @NatImmunol highlighting how every pain condition is different, and immune cells might hold the key to these differences. As a cherry on top, our DRG image was chosen as the cover art 😃 P.C. @sarainthelab nature.com/articles/s4159…
Check out our latest paper describing the neuro-immune signatures in distinct pain states. I’m very proud to have had the opportunity to contribute to this outstanding research and an invaluable resource for the pain community! nature.com/articles/s4159…
Finally did the thing and got that PhD 🥺🥳 🙏🏽 So grateful for my PI, amazing support system in lab, and my family!!! 💗
