Sean McVay said QB Matthew Stafford (back soreness) will not return to practice on Monday as anticipated. McVay said the Rams will take it a week at a time with Stafford but that the QB did not experience a setback. McVay said the goal remains to have Stafford back for Week 1.
It was a light day of training camp for the Rams on Friday, as they held a jog-thru at LMU. They practice tomorrow and are off on Sunday. LA will hold their first padded practice on Monday, which QB Matthew Stafford is expected to participate in.

We saw the workout video in June, but here’s Jared Verse describing his workout with Aaron Donald: “I tried to lie and say my mom was at my house and I had to go let her in. He told me to give my keys to his assistant and they would go let my mom in. So I wasn’t leaving.”
Puka Nacua said he asked Davante Adams to lead the WR drills. “When I was in the front I was like, I'm trying to sprint as fast as I can so I can turn around and watch him," Nacua said. "So I was like, ‘Hey, I think it'll make my job a little bit easier if you just go first.’”
Sean McVay called the meeting with Kyren Williams’ agent “positive,” but said he has no news to report. “As far as I know, nothing has been agreed upon. But I think there's a lot of good intentions on trying to be able to get that done. We'll see if that ends up happening.”
Matthew Stafford spent the first training camp practice working with the training staff. Sean McVay said while Stafford could be out at practice, it feels more beneficial to get him to feel “as good as he can” before he returns to practice on Monday.

Sean McVay said the Rams will be sitting down with Williams’ agent, Drew Rosenhaus, tomorrow to continue discussions.
Kyren Williams said he does anticipate getting a contract extension done with the Rams, but said he doesn’t have a timeline for getting it done. Williams said he will practice during training camp and will be ready for Week 1, even if he has not signed that extension.
Sean McVay said Matthew Stafford is dealing with some back soreness entering trading camp. McVay said Stafford will be limited in the first block (five) practices of training camp.
