Tough act to follow but I’m jumping on next with @DanBarreiroKFAN.

Josh Metellus did not practice today. The Vikings attributed his absence to a mild ankle injury.
Josh Metellus: "A big part is that the guy I am in this building is the guy who's out in front leading the way, so it makes no sense for me not to [participate]." STORY: espn.com/nfl/story/_/id…
Justin Jefferson said he had some mild tightness in his legs today and sat out the end of practice. No concerns even in the short term. Just a nod toward preventing the leg issues that he experienced in 2023.
Here’s the sequel
Kevin O’Connell and J.J. McCarthy doing some teaching and learning:
A few friends and family in attendance for Vikings training camp practice No. 2.

Hulk Hogan was the frontman of the WWF, leading professional wrestling to the national mainstream at WrestleMania I in 1985. No one sold more tickets in the history of the industry and for many years no one in wrestling was more recognizable than Hogan.
From our @espn daily Vikings training camp report… J.J. McCarthy organized two throwing sessions with teammates this summer. One near Nashville and the other in Minnesota. espn.com/nfl/story/_/id…
Minnesota in the CFP? If the Gophers improve in one-score games, coach P.J. Fleck thinks it's quite possible. "This isn't a pipe dream," he told ESPN. "We're not as far off as maybe what our brand and logo and name think we are." espn.com/college-footba…
Video via @Vikings:
J.J. McCarthy just demonstrated his deep arm. Rifled a ball down the right sideline to Jordan Addison for a 60-yard TD.

Josh Metellus participated fully in Vikings camp today as a first-team safety. No contract agreement at this point. But he said he's "not too worried" about the talks and said that, as a captain, he needs to be on the field. More to come.
I love the first day of training camp because it gives me a chance to talk about and honor the great John Clayton.

No video, but we just got an Andrew Van Ginkel special. He slid into the flat, intercepted a Brett Rypien pass and returned it for a TD. Second pick 6 for the Vikings’ defense in team drills. The other was by Ivan Pace Jr., who picked off Sam Howell.
The Vikings’ pass rushing trio right here — Jonathan Greenard, Andrew Van Ginkel and Dallas Turner.
Rain pushed the Vikings indoors for their first training camp practice of 2025. Football, nonetheless.
Vikings WR Jordan Addison, who pleaded no contest to a reduced charge as part of his 2024 DUI citation, on the possibility of NFL discipline: "Everything is out of my control right now, but whatever the league's got for me, I'll be prepared for the decision that they make."
Meanwhile in Chicago...
Ben Johnson said something to the effect of "get out" when disciplining the first team offense. Was Cole Kmet surprised by his reaction? Kmet: "No, not at all. I think that's on par for how Ben is."
