This is lunacy. Transportation Critic @HarmanBhanguBC says the BC Conservatives would make cuts by stopping infrastructure projects that are already underway - starting with the Pattullo Bridge, which is almost complete. 1/3🧵
Incredibly reckless. The BC Conservatives want to cancel major projects that employ thousands of workers and make our economy less dependent on the US. The last thing our economy needs.

Great visit to @WoodfibreLNG today. What will be the world’s lowest emission LNG - thanks in large part to the efforts of the @SquamishNation.
With Mayor Brienen and the District of Houston. What an honour to be back in Houston, after my first visit earlier this year. We’re discussing the future of forestry in the region, and the role we both have to play in supporting a vision. #BCForestry #BCForests

Your choices are making a difference! Every time you choose to buy local, you're supporting farmers, reducing the distance food travels and building a stronger BC for the future.
Today we’ve approved the expansion of Lake Babine Nation’s Woodland License by 2,000% in size, from 5,600 to 126,000 hectares. This achievement came through a real partnership between First Nations, industry, and government. Link: news.gov.bc.ca/releases/2025F… #BCForests #BCForestry

🚧 Construction has begun on the new BC Cancer centre in #Kamloops! It brings radiation therapy closer to home for patients in the Thompson-Cariboo-Shuswap region. 💜
Here at the Burns Lake District Office, having a roundtable with our Forests Team 🌲 When I travel to a District Office, it’s a unique opportunity to learn what is happening on the ground. To learn from people who know exactly what is happening with local forests. #BCForestry

From forestry workers in BC to small business owners in Washington State, Trump’s actions hurt workers and families on both sides of the border. Thank you, Senator @PattyMurray, for joining me today in standing against these tariff threats. We’re better when we work together.
Next stop: sitting down with Fraser Lake Mayor Sarrah Storey, Councillor Webb, and CAO Fredeen. A chance to discuss our work in Wildfire Risk Reduction and forest stewardship. The work we can do in mitigation, and post-wildfire recovery. Thanks for the opportunity. #BCForests

Starting today in Vanderhoof, meeting with Mayor Moutray & Councillor Frenkel. Vanderhoof as a community is rich with forestry experience - the hardships & more. That’s why you might recognize Councillor Frenkel as a core member of the BCTS review panel. #BCForestry #BCForests

Carrier Lumber: family-first, worker-first. Here’s an operation that continually invests their confidence and resources into the local sector. Because they know the real value of working with First Nations, of supporting their workers, and of building community. #BCForestry

BC and the Yukon have a special relationship. From connecting our energy grids to unlocking critical minerals, we’re creating more jobs and a stronger, more unified Canada. Because good neighbours work together.
The Prince George Fire Centre, home to one of the busiest wildfire teams in BC. Whether on the frontline or dispatch, these folks protect our families, our homes, and our communities year after year. Thank you for letting me learn from your experience. #BCWildfire

We are aware of the incident at Red Chris Mine in Northwestern B.C. and are working closely with the mine operator to support them.
Concerned to hear of an emergency at the Red Chris Mine where three miners are trapped. We have dispatched a senior geotechnical inspector to support the company's efforts. Our thoughts are with the workers, their families and those involved in rescue efforts.
#BCForestry has always been foundational to BC’s economy, and Canada broadly. But the softwood trade dispute with the US has hurt our sector. And if duties go up, the effect will only worsen. This is why BC has a role to play in softwood discussions, on the pathway to a deal.

Effective at 12:00 p.m. (noon) PDT on Thursday July 24, 2025, Category 2 burning will be prohibited in the Haida Gwaii Forest District. This prohibition is being enacted to help reduce human-caused wildfires.
